"Another victory for the Flying Clydesdales" aye - I won my group..........over 50/over 220lb........ although one guy went past me on the bike who made me look small - he was humungous!! never saw him on the run though so suspected he DNF'd it's a great shame that the Clydesdale thing has more or less died a death from an organisation viewpoint as it did give us fat uns a way of ranking ourselves against similar size folks rather than against the skinny whippets.....

 |
did you get a slot for Hawaii?
|
 |
nah - Clydesdales don't get any preferential treatment the US Clydesdale setup used to organise a separate World Champs (oly distance) in Florida but as I said, the whole thing seems to have died a death although some events in the US still have clydesdale classes - Chicago 09 for instance http://www.chicagotriathlon.com/?q=node/10

i thought clydesdale was a kind of horse.

....big, slow, lumbering horses - just like....... well, us pirates really. Some more so than others. (that's 'us' as in 'we' pirates, not US pirates - the only one of those I'm aware of is a skinny whippet)

if they had a category for under 5% fat - KegKiller would win it......I'm convinced my thigh is bigger than his waist!

I assume I am the old guy who came out of retirement. How am I? The doctor tells me the drugs should start to help some time soon. I hope so I keep having recurring nightmares of some woman sprinting ahead of me shouting "Fandabidozee". i thought clydesdale was a kind of horse. I think I would rather face a speeding horse than try to stop FB in full flight.

enjoyed your race report .... i laughed out loud at your reply to the young american woman who commented negatively on the weather ... you said it was like a perfect day in Scotland ... sad thing is, that girl is probably still trying to figure out what state in america "scotland" is located. did you do another IM after that one?

Not so far - recurring injuries have put paid to my plans for IMCH but a future excursion has not been ruled out.

Re the jacket - I actually got one that said "second place", as he splits it between men's and women's events. So being beaten by a girl was actually good news!

Not as good as the photograph on the website, to be honest. Never mind, I have other jackets.

ok, done a bit on the website now. i liked the old amateur feel but it was a pain to update hence it not being updated for a couple of years. this one will be a piece of pish to keep current and that's what's useful about websites hopefully. anyway, i know being outed on the web isn;t everyones cup of tea so any requests to remove material for whatever reason (you don’t want your image or report on the website, you own the copyright!) will be actioned promptly and without comment. if anyone wants to add anything or has any ideas let me know too.

looks ace and yes I will send you some stuff on training, I think I might have to sort out some simple mechanics as well, I had to help a guy at Nantwich fix his puncture today, he had never used the pump, by the time I had got to him, he had unscrewed the top bit and broken it anyway. Bought the bike 2 weeks ago lol, got him going again but I only have a mini pump and it doesn't get much pressure in so it should just have got him the last 4 miles.
