Shame about the tri Caz. I'm not a BUPA fan (having worked for them) so avoid their races.

I can understand that LN. There are a few around here that I boycott because I don't agree with the company tht organises them.

I came very close to whistleblowing a few things there. I wish I had in hindsight. Oh well, how about Vit? Is that on your plan? Looks like LP will be there too!

That's another half LN. I really haven't got time to train for a half, but I might come and spectate.

GFB, I know what you mean about the detox, I think I would have put on at least 4lbs in the last two despite running a marathon!!

Afternoon all! Happy belated birthday to you, GFB! Well done on the race, ITB! Woohoo - I'm nearly back to 10st! Hopefully this weekend I'll be back in the 9s again. Did a 6ish mile slog yesterday evening, which didn't feel toooo bad.... Well pleased with my swim this morning - 28 lengths (of 33.3m pool), including warm up, 400m timed "threshold" swim, some drills and a few lengths to cool down. Managed the 400m in 10:41(previous fastest time 11:18) so the technique work definitely seems to be helping me improve my pace. Still slow by some people's standards, but not bad for a numpty! Running coming together (er, ish....); swimming coming together - just need a bike. Oh, and a shedload of gear... Body Max tonight. Time to pump some iron!

Happy Beated B'Day GFB. Woo Hoo fingers crossed Lady P, hopefully you'll be joining me back in the 9's. I need to get back onto nurtracheck, haven't done it for a few weeks now. Just finished a club run, 5.34 miles, average pace 11.35. Not bad considering I had to slow down for the last two miles so the two girls behind me didn't get too far behind. Didn't want them to run on their own, not very nice.

Morning all! Good on you, Prawnie, for looking after those others girls in your club. And well done on the run. Body Max was a right pounding last night! I think I felt it during the leg work because a) we did more leg work than usual and b) I'd done a harder, and longer, run on Monday evening than I normally do to make up for CBA Syndrome at the weekend (normally it's long run on Sunday, then a slow, easy run of around 4.5 miles on Monday). So although I'm spinning tonight, I'm sacking off the additional planned run - I'm so used to gauging when my knees are likely to grumble these days, and I sense they are likely to today if I were to do both a run and a spin. Will re-jig plans and do a decent run tomorrow instead. One thing I have to smile about is the other girls in the Body Max class. Fair enough, some of them simply can't manage the large weights, but do their best and pick up the heaviest weights they can manage. Others just seem scared to put in any effort at all. I love being physically strong. I've been using weights for long enough to know that it hasn't bulked me up (which is what I think these girls are scared of) but has toned me considerably, but I accept that it will never completely turn me into a svelte, sylphlike, streamlined being - I'm simply not built like some of the other girls in the gym. But I do enjoy having some strength even if I still have bingo wings. I think that's key to how far I've come since the days I fretted endlessly about my appearance. Not only has training made me more confident - partly through slimming down, partly because my technique is better for a lot of exercises, partly because I don't give a monkey's what people think anymore - but I enjoy it for a whole host of other reasons than just improving the way I look.

...ok....step one: I've downloaded a marathon programme (26 weeks so therefore the next 6 months of boxes to tick and be obsessive about - apparently that the only way I'll get off my arse!) Step two - must dust off my WLR subscription Step three - dig out trainers! (Seriously this last 3 months have been the worst as far as training is concerned that I've had since I started training - which was 2005, but with two subsequent injuries - trochantic bursitis and then the foot cut and then the blooming swine flu I've had little or no motivation to get going - I'm done with that! )

Well done again LP.
GFB - if you want a cheaper alternative, and are happy to download something rather than use something on the website, check out Perfect Diet Tracker. It works out cheaper and one subscription is for life. Also, when I used to be WLR, they stopped people from adding new products in. You can still do that with PDT.

Thanks, peeps! Off to buy a bottle of bubbly on the way home, then off to spin class, then back to home to celebrate! GFB - I'm sure you'll get back into it again. Just remember: JFDI! Bye for now!

LN, I add new products to WLR all the time. Not sure why you had a problem??? LP, well done on the result! We all knew that you wouldn't have any problem passing but getting a distinction is wonderful! 2fat2run, well done on losing 2 stone. I bet you are beginning to feel the difference now. I noticed that climbing the stairs got easier and my running got faster without me putting any extra training in. Today I was determined to go swimming, but the city fireworks have gridlocked the roads and I can't get near the pool. I also got the chance to touch a Brawn F1 car at work! One of their sponsors (Perkin Elmer) got them in because they thought it might impress us enough that we would buy some of their equipment. There weren't a lot of people there for the sales pitch though.

Morning all! Thanks for the congrats! Feeling slightly sketchy this morning after a little bit of the old alcy-hol last night, but not too bad. Planning on a little run and a swim later on... Ace effort, 2fat2run - well done on your progress so far! That's a real bummer about the swim, Caz - I always get so frustrated when stuff like that happens. Oooh....what was it like to see the car up close?

Weird Caz. Maybe there was a bug or something. Anyhow, I'll stick to DT now. I liked WLR but found it quite expensive.
