Great thanks (if ever so slightly confuddled from last night's fizzy wine )!

To celebrate my new status as a Master of Science with Distinction.

And besides, I've only got to work this morning, then I'm on annual leave until the weekend (our leave year starts on 1 October, so I had a little bit of time off to carry over from starting my job halfway through September).

Cheers, hun!

(And yep, I probably am something of a swotty teacher's pet...)

A massive relief to finally get the result through after all the hard work - boy, was that year worth it.

Morning....LN, I've downloaded the free version of the Perfect Diet Tracker and I have a few questions - does it's calorie allowance seem more generous that the WLR?  Also how do you find the exercise calories allowance?

I think calculating your BMR allowance is the best way to work out your cals GFB. And the exercise allowances seems to be pretty much on par.

I'm really only using PDT as a guide at the moment (ie not calculating to the exact calorie ) as I'm back on the some super strong steroids (= weight gain even though I'm eating normally but still feel hungry!) so PDT is just helping me to keep an eye on my food, esp after a rather indulgent September and October.

Providing the cals are in about the right amount and my good old food % are roughly where I want them to be, I'm happy. Boy this feels like old times doesn't it? *shudder* I've come a long way since then.

PDT is good because you only need to pay once so you could even just use it for a week a month and not have to keep subscribing.

Thanks LN (I have a six months sub to WLR which is current so when that runs out I might give the PDT a shot)

Sorry to hear your on the steroids again

Afternoon all I finally have some training to report! Just back from 5 miles on the hills, HR was higher than normal depsite being slow and ploddy but it was lovely to be up there in the sunshine, the hills and the sea looked wonderful. So a slow start back, but a start nevertheless! Now I need to get myself a programme sorted so I can start properly on Monday. Will do some more easy miles and some core work this week.

Ta GFB. The last time I subscribed to WLR, I accidentally chose 6 months instead of one. I contacted WLR and they actually refunded me the balance (minus the charge for one month) which I thought was good of them.

A 2 mile jogette for me yesterday - I'll not be doing much today as we're working till 5 and then off to Belfast for the boxing (Slugfest)  Still not sure what to wear especially as now it looks like we might have ring side seats as a friend of MrGFB has got a couple for us - am I going to be covered in blood and spit?

MrGFB's dad was taken back into hospital middle of last night (he's 79 with alzheimers and is in resedential care) he was passing alot of blood.  He's only out a few days having been in for a fortnight with an infection they couldn't find - poor oul Paddy

I did 6 miles of walking today to and from railway station to the football ground. The only other time I have been there was at the end of the half marathon. However I did something from a bakery and a snack from a petrol station on they way there plus a few medicinal drinks while there. I was tempted to get a burger and chips but I decided against it must have been feeling ill.

First league XC race of the winter tomorrow at Windsor plus there are cakes afterwards

Good luck for the XC tomorrow ITB. I am going to do my first LSR for a while, not sure how long yet, perhaps two hours...

It is the longest race of the series nearly a massive 6 miles, hopefully my marathon training will get me through it.

It is virtually flat and this only a bit across a farmers field and a loop of the grass is off road the rest is on footpaths, however the rest of the races are a bit more interesting/proper XC courses.

Also got my race report from Dublin Marathon on my blog now with some photos from a person on an Irish forum.
