I think it is 20 miles relaxed

Hi folks. - so to lose weight I have to stop exercising and eat what I like!!!!!LOL
yep, that would seem to be the case . I've had pies and sausages and cakes, loads of cheese, specially those garlic swirly soft cheeses, yum. Wedding cake, really rich cheesecake, pavlova, chips, including chip shop chips. I could understand it better had I just stayed the same but I really don't know how I could possibly have lost 2 pounds.

Hi everyone. I was feeling much better yesterday after my run on Sunday - not sure what was wrong with me but I slept like a log on Sunday night so maybe I was just tired. Relaxed - sounds like you had a good run on Sunday. RLTW - well done on the weight loss. All that food sounds lovely! I put on 2.5 pounds at WW last night. Bit disappointed - I had a couple of days last week when I was a bit naughty but I wasn't that bad! And I did plenty running. Never mind I'll just have to be super good this week and hope it comes back off next Monday.

Hi all. I am not planning on going to ww tomorrow. After a blinder of a start to the week (plenty of exercise, sticking rigidly to diet) I fell off the wagon so to speak when i went out at the weekend. Since then all i have done is eat a LOT and do no exercise. I even skipped my running club tonight I am quite disappointed with myself and i really need to get back on it tomorrow cos i feel sluggish and fat. Anyone else as bad as me?

silvachick - I get like that all the time, just have to remember that one day, even two or three of being naughty is not the end of the world, so long as it doesn't last all week...all month...all year... Don't be disappointed in yourself, just pick yourself and get back into it, don't reflect back, just look forward First run in 3 weeks for me tonight - 20 yds for the bus and it felt great - especially as I really nearly didn't catch it which would have looked really daft Won't be running properly again though for at least another week, but was pleased to see the scales back down to 12-1 again this morning, just need to keep that up all week.

actually silvachick, I reckon if you can go to WW tomorrow, you should - even if just to give you a new, refreshed starting point. You might be pleasantly surprised too, like RLTW's weight loss after a couple of weeks of indulgence

RLTW - well done a surprising weight loss is always nice Yeti - Thanks for the encouragement. I know I should bite the bullet and go to ww but i can feel it on my stomach that ive put on! I just dont want my first plus since i started. Should have thought of that before I started my eat-a-phon!!

Hi all, proper newbie here! I have introduced myself in the beginners forum as well but I have been lurking for a while and thought it would be perfect to post on this thread to keep on track, you all seem so friendly I've been running since April 2009 and I go out once a week with a running group, but I've been rather sporadic with runs on my own in the week. I'm now ready to knuckle down and I am going to start training to do my first 10k, aiming to take part in one early next year. I also would like to lose a couple of pounds! I *think* I'm 9 st 6, and I'm 5ft 4. Ideally I'd like to be 8st 6, although I'm happy with my body at the mo I feel like I don't really have much leeway left for expansion!! My weight has been very up and down recently and I just want to be more stable with the whole thing. So if it is OK, I will join you all in the weigh in on Friday (where i will discover if i am 9st 6 or not)! About to go for my lunchtime walk to get a salad for lunch, along with some yummy chilli flavour pumpkin seeds. I've got a lovely route for a 4.5 mile run tonight which I'm hoping to complete in under 50 mins (I'm really not very fast!) Looking forward to chatting with you all

Bienvenue Rosay chilli pumpkin seeds sound interesting! I've just had a bowl of chilli soup for my lunch... NB. That did say 'chilli' soup - it was very hot both spice- and temp-wise!

 |
Chilli Soup - I like the sound of that.

LFC - it's basically tomato soup but I put chilli in it for an extra kick. However, I never measure my ingredients so this batch was more like a rocket up the backside
|
 |
I'll have to try that (the soup, not the rocket).

thanks for the welcome lfc and yeti yes the chilli seeds are yummy, they're by a company called munchy seeds. they are quite calorific so i have to buy them in 30g servings because if you put a whole pot in front of me i will scoff them all without even thinking! anything with chillis in makes my day!!

I love chilli. That's the problem if I go to Subway. I always have to tell them not to be stingy with the chilli's.

Hi folks, Welcome Rosay - Do those seeds have much fat in them? I eat chilli (very cool chilli) as a meal but I only use turkey mince to keep the fat content down. Did you manage that 4.5 mile run? Silvachick - as Yeti says, you shouldn't feel too disappointed with yourself. I've done well on my diet but one important factor for me was always that I could allow myself indulgence days without feeling guilty. It's so hard to stick to a diet at the best of times so I decided that i would allow myself 'off diet' days for various reasons including going out for a 'girlie' lunch or evening meal etc. Doing that helped me to feel good about the diet the rest of the time cos I gave myself permission to do it and I didn't feel that I was missing out all the time. I was really quite strict with myself during my 'on diet' days though. I started this diet after my birthday in April cos the kids all got me chocolates so I felt obliged to eat them all first ! This is the longest I've managed to stick to a diet. They generally ended after about 6 weeks when I would 'plateau' and then lose heart with it all. This time I managed to keep it going cos my weight loss has been little but regular (pound or 2 most weeks) and I have found foods that I actually don't mind eating. I have never felt particularly hungry as I just eat lots but only of stuff that has tiny amounts of fat in it (a bit stricter than Rosemary Conley) My downfall with her was that she allowed meringue nests - she didn't mean 4 at a time though! My main problem now will be to allow myself some degree of normality without going back to the 'stuffing myself with whatever I fancy' regime. I'm great when I'm on a diet - I'm just rubbish at not being on one. I can't seem to manage 'sensible eating'. I think I am going to go through all my clothes and get rid of everything that is now too big (95% of my wardrobe me thinks!) Then I may treat myself to a few new clothes which actually fit me. That way I know I will have to be sensible otherwise it's going to cost me a fortune to keep replacing stuff.

Hi Run Like The Wind Yes the seeds are mega fatty! They have 606 calories and 47.2g of fat per 100g! I buy them in 30g serving packs now! But I guess its the 'good fat' like the kind in avocados and nuts, but still I won't be buying a 200g pot ever again because its too hard to put away! I did my run, in 45 minutes! I was so pleased! I didn't have a watch on at the time (I'm saving up for a decent one at the mo) but I checked the time when I went out and put my washing machine on, and when I came back the washing was still going, I couldn't believe it! A cycle is only about 50 mins! hehe Argh nervous about weighing myself tomorrow! I've done OK this week eating wise but had a couple of snacks that I probably could have done without

Sneaked on the scales this morning - not looking good <<<<<<<<<<exits thread looking glum and slurping water>>>>>>>>>

Rosay - I think I would be avoiding those seeds big time. I wouldn't be eating anything with 4.72 grams of fat never mind 47.2 !! (even if it is the good kind) . . . but that's just me. I love the idea of you timing your run to the washing machine cycle . Well done on beating it to the finish!! Apparently Halfords is doing a really good deal on the Garmin 305 for £95 I think . . . . << dashes of to check the GNR thread for more info on Garmin bargin >>

Hi Rosay and welcome I've just had a big fat cinnamon bun and I don't care -has just come from counselling and doesn't advocate comfort eating usually-
