Went to the beach yesterday to give the dogs a run...there was no beach, the tide was in and thrashing and pounding against the rocks!

Speedy, how is your leg? Not long til your holiday, have you sorted out the dogs?

MiL was 91 today! and tucked up in bed when we called in...

How are parents Bodjit?  MIL is a good age AT 91.

My mum not good.  Doctor was called in twice today to see to her.  She just had this blank look when I spoke to her today.  She was well out of it and didn't even know who I was.  I was in for 1.5hrs and she never said one word to me.  So sad.

Dogs booked into kennels now.  Came home to a letter telling us there is building works going on at hotel next to us for our holidays and we can expect some noise and did we want to change hotels.  For goodness sake we go on Sunday.  I want to change to Red Sea but hubby doesn't.  Difference in temp is Tunisia 19 Red Sea 30.  No contest for me I would prefer the 30.

 Leg ok Limper/  Swollen but not sore.

Had your mum maybe had a little 'turn' Speedy? Just wondering, what with the doc visiting twice. Maybe a TIA? She'd be pretty drowsy for a day or two afterward even if it was tiny.

Glad you've got the dogs sorted. I think I'd opt for the Red Sea as well!

My half mara was lovely thanks. I might have appreciated the scenery more if the rain wasn't coming down so hard, but other than that it didn't spoil it. And I had good company.
Watching the van housing the men's urinals gracefully sink end-up into the mud was possibly the highlight of the event! That and the yells and the sudden leaping out of the men who had been using the urinals!!

My finger is mahoosive! But I didn't have to bite down on a strip of leather whilst applying a fresh plaster this morning, so it must be healing!

The tides are very high this week Bodj. It's 'spring' tides. I've been listening to the sea all night. It's a lovely wild sound. I would rather have been asleep though. Yawn.

Limper, you poor thing!  I once shut two of my ex-husband's fingers in my car hatchback!  (That's not why he's ex!)  We made it to a & e and he passed out cold on the floor.

Speeds, do the docs say that the cellulitis will improve when you've lost some weight?  If not, is there anything they can do for it, 'cos it seems a lot for you to put up with....

Hope finger is better now Limper.

Sass yes specialist says would not suffer the same pain and swelling if lost weight but it will never be perfect.  Its also badly scarred with big purple marks right round calf.  

Still arguing about hols.  I really want Egypt he wants Tunisia in the rain!!!!!

Not sure what has happened to mum.   Brother went today and she was same as yesterday.  Just blank.  Didn't realise he was there and looked through him just as she did with me yesterday,

Worried I shouldn't be going on holiday.

Missing your holiday will not change what happens to your mum Speedy.
Although it will be very hard to bear if the 'ultimate thing' happens while you are not around, it will not have been caused or affected by your absence, so don't let that thought stop you.
Do you need the holiday? If so, GO.  If not, think about it.
If your mum is this blank then she is not in a stressed mood. It's not nice for you, but that's something you have to bear. At least be comforted that she is quiet and relaxed.
(Sorry if I sound at all callous, I'm not. I'm just practical and very used to elderly patients).

My finger is healing! It's the little one and it has shrunk from being the size of my thumb to the size of my middle finger, but it hasn't made it back to being ickle size yet!

I wish it had been my husband's fingers that I wrecked Sass. I would have been most happy with that! Better still would have been to shut his entire head in the door.

Speedy, worth getting them to check two things with mum: does she have a urinary tract infection, or is she constipated.

Speedy, go and enjoy your holiday. Maybe your Mothers dementia is just progressing, MiL doesn't acknowledge us at all really, just on the odd occassion, when we point out to her that we are there, it is hard.

I played badminton tonight, first time in a month, so that was good!

we are away tomorrow for 2 nights on Exmoor before going further south, so really looking forward to it, we have got B&B in a dog friendly hotel! Still, I have to endure a nearly full day of work first, and the VAT man for an inspection.....

Sass you're ok, I never make it on here in the mornings!! But I can cope with most conversations and eat at the same time

I ate my lunch yetserday while discussing the Bristol Poo Scale with a student. I'm sturdy I am!

I might have to take my pup to have her teeth checked (she has a large mouth with HUGE teeth!!). In the last day or two she has started grinding them every time she yawns. It escalated into grinding them in her sleep last night. Eurgh.
Hope Vet'nary has got some good leather gauntletts!

 Sorry not been around.  How is everyone?

Mum did have a UTI so on ab's now but not much change.  Fell out of bed during the night.  Going to see her tomorrow as now off on holidays although don't fly till Monday.  Home says her dementia is getting worse and it is quite common when someone with dementia loses their partner after so long.  They can;t guarantee that she will be ok though as she is really not well.  

How are your parents Bodjit?  Enjoy your days away.

Holiday now changed to Egypt after much fighting over it.  Dogs booked into kennels so I hope they will be ok as its bitter cold at nights up here and Max was shivering tonight in the house so had to put his jumper on him as he was so cold.  He got weighed on Tues when getting his booster and he weights 3kgs.  

Now I have to go out at the weekend and buy some holiday clothes as I hadn't bothered because Tunisia was not that warm at this time of year.  Guess there wont be much in the way of shorts and tops in the shops just now and all last holiday clothes no longer fit me.

Will catch you all before I go.

Got to laugh when you talk about Max - my pup is just over 3 STONE!!!!!
But she does wear a coat when she goes to the stables at night cos she feels the cold too!
She is off to Vet'nary after work today to have her gnashers checked.

Cute dog!  It is a breed that sometimes has tooth/bite problems though, so pleased you're getting it sorted.

Morning  Sassand Limper.

What a lovely puppy.  Just a tad heavier that Max and Molly who weights 8kgs   Hope the visit to the vet goes well.  Max had to get 2 teeth out in July because his adult teeth were in and he still had his baby teeth.  I am sure your puppy will be fine.

It is cold up here this morning.

Going to visit mum and then try find something for hols.

Hiya Snail's Pace.  Yes never thought you would be back on here.  1 run is 1 run more than me so well done. 

Didn't manage to get any clothes for hols today so going to try some other shops tomorrow.

Mum slighlty better today as in that she smiled at me and did say hello to Jayden.  Seems she has lost 7kgs since July.
