You can really feel the tension, jumping from one report to the next, really enthralling, and so good of you to share it with us.
Magic stuff.

I kept missing people though as everytime I got to the grandstand I had a violent wave ofstomach cramping and had to go and pebble dash the toilet, which is where I texted a reply to Nick! The finish of SP was great as the news was he was making steady progress towards the finish but time was ticking away. The commentator had latched on to the prolific pirates and made a big fuss every time we had a finisher. Indeed the whole day was brilliant because of the sheer numbers of friends out suffering alongide in the heat, plus the high visibility kit and tee shirts meant that you couldn`t miss us, we were adopted by other supporters and competitors alike, so had so much encouragement all round. My race time was a disappointment in terms of the run, but I am delighted with my swim and bike, can`t wait for Sherbourne see some of you there.

 :'o)
I thought I'd wept my last, but reading all this has made me blub again.
Andy - I was in pieces when you refused your flag because you were in such a state, yet still not breaking that - very odd-looking but determined! - stride.
Dan, those pics are fantastic. Looking at Oxy's, I think he should save it for the cover pic of the book. (I dunno which book - the one all of you could write after Sunday, I guess.) He was actually turning to wave at me coz I'd nipped round behind the finish line to scream at him and he heard me! LOL! Look at that tear in his eye - have you ever wanted to hug someone more? (I did, about 10 seconds later)

lol Nessie - by then I was in the thick of rush-hour traffic, but made it just in time to check in, have a pee and buy some chocolate. I was sitting at home having a cup of tea by eight o'clock (I'm only half an hour from Heathrow).
|
 |
Good to see you *almost* got your priorities in the right order. I mean, what if you'd missed your chocolate?

Jj needs to get on with some work too, but I probably will knock up a schmalzy, hyperbolic, marshmallow report later.
