Morning all!!! (guess it's afternoon there?)

Do we still not know that Zilla really finished??

and has anyone heard if DD is OK?
Show/hide user stats
not heard too much today but I am sure there will be varying degrees of happiness, I think everyone is in one piece at least.

Ta!

I heard from Garr at a ridiculously early time this morning. He didn't mention anything untoward but then, most of his message was taken up with exclamations of joy... unsurprisingly

Thanks M.

My last impression was that he finished just in time. I'm sorry to hear he pulled. Hope he's OK.

I reckon the latter part of that therapy is about to get started... if it wasn't a couple of hours ago.

Talking of which, it's time for my coffee and to get back to the lab.

catch you all later.

IR, congratulations on holding onto your title, you must have been sweating a bit when you heard how well TC was going.

it was only afterwards I thought about it really which is suprising cos I am a competitive son of a bitch but on a faster course you never know, as I said I really have to work on my running for next year as RichM is out for blood as well and he won't need a second invite.

To be honest tho, to do that time in your first is a great effort and reward for hard work. I hope he doesn't retire now !

Wonderboy was fine last I saw him, we happened to be racked next to each other in transition. He had a bad bout of de-hydration and sickness but finished well and seemed ok after a quick drip.

Zilla race report: (on silly swiss keyboard)

Got to Hostel on the thursday and for that night i'm staying in a room with a french guy that speaks no english "Je mapelle john" was ok, but he didn't have any ham sandwiches or an older brother or sister, who says that school french is rubbish?

When i came back after the thursday ride the french guy was out and there was a swedish guy who was very chatty and later snored like a b*stard. Anyway so the ride was ok about 16 miles up and back taking in Heartbreak hill, that while steep was not that long, so i'm thinking Ok, hmmmm, good, leg ok, cool

i'll let the others fill you in on the social stuff later...

TC had me crying with laughter over dinner and carl will be patenting the first Tri-Barbecue....

any way on friday did a bit of a group swim, i lost everyone swimming round the little island near the swim exit and went off and did my own 1500m or so - all was ok.

So bike ok, swim ok, ok.

race breifing over friday lunch and for some reason we listened to it in german and then english... but it all sinks in and I get on with it.

Saturday we watch the guys do the Zuri tri in quite some heat (well done folks). Quick dinne rand then I took my bike down to racking for 7.30 and meet my supporters who have spent 7 hours getting from the airport to transition...

Race day up before 5 -

nervous and a bit tired but ok

get all my kit and make my way down there massive space next to my bike as two people have not turned out, so big area to set up - very stange but cool to see so many people you know setting up in the same race.

All set up - food strategy is powerbars 1 per lap and then gels for rest of bike and run with biscuits and soreen loaf etc in reserve in transition.
