Parmo - which charity were you with?

british heart foundation
Don't worry about my name HA - coming from South Tyneside, people always spell it incorrectly.

I like the piccy of you up a mountain on your bike much better.

Rachel Jones - sorry to hear you're still suffering. I'm a lot better today, though ironically my feet are sore from a new pair of shoes I wore today (those flipping ballet pump thingies that look really comfortable but are nigh-on impossible to even keep on your feet). I've never had a single blister from running ... and on the day I start recovering from a half-marathon I wear girlie shoes for a change and it's a total blister-fest.

Heavens! Having read Hairy's comment I'm now thinking frozen carrots rather than frozen peas!
Bodyglide for girlie shoes I reckon Shielsy. Yes, the picture of me last year was really good. I think it was pain more than pleasure on my face though. This year's etape pictures were no use, and neither was my FLM picture.

I mentioned earlier that they only seemed to be taking photos at the finish. Am I right?

No thanks HA! Actually I remember thinking there was a distinct lack of any signs of over-exerted stomachs at the end of the run!

I have just lost another toe nail :-(

Thats 5 in 4 months. My poor feet.
Vicki - I so wish I could say "Yes, that was me!!" but sadly not (did this person look like she was about to commit violence? That's probably why you thought she was me). I was all psyched up for a gentle run, but my feet were cut to shreds by the time I'd walked home from the metro station so couldn't face it.

That'll teach me for wearing girlie shoes ... I never do normally.

Parmo - cool that you saw yourself on telly! I have it recorded, I'll keep my eye out for you. Was your wife proud? My boyfriend rarely gets enthusiastic about anything (even NUFC) but he always seems really chuffed when he meets me after a race, which is nice.

girlie shoes they dont do my feet much good either Shielsy, yet its the underwear what really gets me ;o)

yep wife was chuffed she was on TV even more that I finished it in one piece mind

Shielsy - lol just as well I didn't beep then ;)(Oh.. and always feel tempted to stick a 'd' in your name - almost to the point where I have to stop and remove it!)

O'D - what you been doing to make your toenails drop off? maybe you should look at different running shoes...

I cant believe we've got 10 pages of thread already - its only been up and running a day!!!

Just had a quick look at some of the photos - Theres some really good ones!!

HA - I think there are normally cameras as you reach the roundabout just before you drop down to the coast (I'm sure the last few years they have been up ladders) but this year there was about 4 camera men at the bottom of the hill just before you turn left onto the sea front - I normally get my hair straight and no matter how much I'm hurting put a huge smile on my face - they caught me out this year I think!!!!

Just checked out my "snaps" - I had hoped that I did not look as knackered as I felt............I do!

Not sure how you have managed a "quick" look Mandie - they seem to be taking an age to load for me?

Not sure about prediction for 2007 Vicki as I would prefer to be confirmed entrant first but after my good run this year I'll go for 1:40
