Predictions?

Well IOve never done a half before. I managed the Graburn 20 k in just over 1:40. Ill say 1:40 and try and do some more distance training.

Come on Dave, no need to be so pessimistic! You were nearly a full 20 mins faster than me at Garburn and I have just clocked 1:40:38 (with a pee stop) in GNR06 so you should be aiming for a sub 1:30:00 half?

Vicki, did you see me in the santa suit????

By the way-if anyone wants to see what I looked like after the run, check out:

I,ll give you all a full race report tomorrow.

RB, I just dont wanna disappoint myself. I will be aiming for a good pace as ever. Just hoping to get a place now.

I know that I can run a sub 1:30 pace over my regular route of 7.3 miles, will see how things go.

Hi All,

Vicky can you add me to the list for next year - prediction 1:50.

This year (my first half marathon)I set a goal of getting under 2hrs... my official time was 02:00:01 ! I was/am absolutley gutted. The trouble is that I can't remember anything from the 800m sign to after the finish. I only looked at my watch whilst getting a massage (unfortunately off two burly blokes) in the charity tent afterwards.

I'm downloading the movie of me finishing from Marathon-Videos at the moment just to check I didn't make too much of a fool of myself at the finish!

Hiya all, hope next year to take 13 mins off time and finish in about 1.41 but to beat 1.40 would be fantastic. Have raved about the race so much that so far four people from work have registered their interest for next year.

must ask - was it anyone on this site wearing the gorilla suit when I finished. Couldn't believe that someone rigged up like that could finish in anything under 2 hours!!!!
Mandie, I didn't see them there at all. However, I was suffering at this point and just wanted to up the tempo to get it over with quick.

Monkeynutter, can you let me know if the video at the finish only works with Windows Media Player? I don't like to buy anything that's all tied up in DRM. Thanks.

HA - Will do. It says they will E-Mail when it's ready but that will probably take days judging by how slow the site currently is!

Am trying to change my picture, but the site says they are all too big to upload. Have tried cropping them in photoshop but no good...any one got any tips? Ta x
Monkeynutter - I've gone and ordered it now. It seems that it's just a standard AVI MPEG-4 file. They say you can do what you like with it, so I hope they are right.
You mean on here? I think you need to save them as a gif or jpeg/jpg file. bmp or tiff files are just too big. It's all to do with lossy or lossless compression. Gifs and jpegs are like MP3 files, but tiffs and bmps are like CD audio.

No pictures of me at all :(
Considering I nearly landed on top of the photographer at the bottom of the hill with the haystacks at the end of it I'm rather disappointed. I was sure they'd have a highly amusing photo of me trying to stop myself from crashing into them.

If anyone wants to know what I look like, on the same website if you go to Robin Hood Marathon and put in 2258 you'll be able to have a giggle. Seems only fair I tell you because I've been giggling at all of you LOL :)
I'm not giggling. I'd say you look elf-like Caroline. Are you related to a certain Arwen perhaps?
I mean you look like you are practically floating along...
Here's a sad thought. Who finished nearest their number? I finished 2,601th although my number was 2018 (583 out). Last year I was 5625 and finished 6,290th (665 out). So Colin, if you can give me number -501 next year I can win the event...

Hi everyone,

Saw this thread and though I'd pop in.

Vicky can you please add me to the list for next year - prediction 1:55. I managed 2.06 this year ten minutes quicker than last time so I'll go for another ten off for next year hopefully
