I am co-organising a Charity 5K Fun Run on Sunday 28 June starting and finishing at T-Mobile in Hatfield. Whilst the main benefactor will be the Isabel Hospice in Welwyn Garden City we will be making a donation to the Asthma Research Fund in memory of Carl Couzens who was my best friend and died very shortly after taking part last year of an asthma attack.  We have learnt a few lessons from last years event and have tried to make it more successful, we have this year got a local running club to walk the route with a measuring wheel so we are confident of the distance and have also asked local business to donate items for the goody bag.  The emphasise on the run is ‘fun’ and we would encourage anyone to enter as there is no winner or last place. Last year a number of runners entered in fancy dress and even stopped at the local KFC to get some food and money off customers! If you want a fun day out whilst also helping two worthy charities please enter the run. Full details can be found at http://www.hbp5k.co.uk or can enter online at http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/events/viewevent.asp?sp=&v=2&EN=50751. Thanks in advance and hopefully see some of you on 28 June.

Very similar but the just before the end you will go underground (ala Monte Carlo) for approx 400 mtrs - to make up the shortfall from last year
