The German supermarket ALDI, which also have some stores in the UK will sell running gear for a week from Thursday 27th of February. I do not know about the qulality, but the prices are looking ok.

If you want to see what they are offering, then take a look here:

Funny, I couldn't find a review in the RW shoe guide for those £9.99 running shoes. The phrase 'buy cheap, buy twice' springs to mind here.

The coolmax tee for £5.99 looks a bargain though.

Isn't it "buy cheap, get crippled" for shoes?

Beware - the cheap Aldi HRM's advertised a month or so ago vanished almost immediately (or were a figment of someone's imagination), so prepare for disappointment. Got me into an Aldi for the first time ever, though!

In Germany I lived next to the Aldi, and every Wednesday we had the Aldi day. Once, they were standing people at 6 am there, waiting to buy a PC at half past nine.

I am shure, that nobody here want to buy the shoes, but some hats, gloves and shirts are worth a small journey to Kingsbury, at least for me.

no way.
they have those reflective flashing arm band things that they featured in RW a couple of months back.

I bought some and they set me back £15.

Aldi have them for £2.99.

They are great - wear them when running & cycling - super visible.

Stuff the running crap!
They sell lovely microwave curries, and huge bags of bacon frazzles!.. while you muppets are out cripling yourself in your cheapo never walk again trainers i'll be sat eating my Korma wearing my £100 injury avoiders!

I did some shopping this morning. Two pairs of flushing reflective armstarps, running shorts, gloves and hat. All in all a bag full of gear for just 20 £.
I have not touched the shoes, but when I arrived at Aldi, there were only four pairs left, and when I left Aldi, there were just 2 pairs left.

And finally I found some real food here in England: Frikadellen und Fleischwurst!

I went in first thing but they didn't have any T-shirts so all I got was socks, it felt like Christmas all over again.

Aldi do the best olive oil in the universe, and it's practically free . . . needless to say I missed the running kit, though!

Aldi do one or two very drinkable wines.

Try the red Baron St. Jean. It's only just over £2 and is very easy drinking.

I am pointing out a good possibility for some cheap running gear and you are talking about alcohol and olive oil.
Can someone move this topic away from the gear section to an off topic one?

By the way, you have to try the Frikadellen and Fleischwurst. (not together!)

Top flashing armband thingies!

(The 12 year old malt is pretty sippable too!)
