Calibrating Treadmills

either it's fast or I'm getting slow!

I've just come back from a week away at sea where my main source of training is a treadmill - a prehistoric powerjog which measures in metres, speed in kmh and no incline settings. Having converted km to miles etc it seems that the paces on the treadmill seem a helluva lot faster than paces "on the road". I appreciate there is no wind resistance on a treadmill amidst other factors, but still think it needs recalibrating - any ideas how to do this anyone?

Best look on here : http://www.powerjog.co.uk/

Failing that - get a HRM and use that as a guide to speed ?
