Any recommendations?

Went swimming the other day and my cossie was all baggy and, no I haven't lost weight (alas), it's been eaten by the pool!

Any good pool-proof cossies out there?

I think they all go like that eventually. Chlorine isnt very good to swim in.

Maybe try a lake ??

some of the main brands now do a chlorine resistant fabric but as Cougs says they all go like it in the end
Make sure they are well rinsed after each session and dont use fabric conditioner when you wash them

Thanks. Mine says hand-wash only, which I have done after every swim and, after just a few months it's falling apart!

Love your lake suggestion Cougie :¬) I'm off up to the Lake District next week...but I think it might be a tad chilly!

Ok! I'll let you know how it goes...Windermere's about 12 miles or something isn't it? Should be quite warm by the end...

The speedo endurance range are more chlorine resistant than most

Thank you Heckenhocker, I'll have a look

i find my speedo endurance one has lasted ages and it gets used 2-3 times a week. they come in quite a few styles now too which is good.
always rinse it well after each go and bung it in the washing machine (no softener) every couple of weeks or so.

Another vote for Speedo Endurance fabric costumes. One of mine is getting on for 3 years old and is *just* starting to look a bit shabby.

I've got a speedo endurance too and it's lasting fine thus far.

Wonder if it will stand up to Ironman training!

Great, seems that's the one to go for then! I've never had this problem before, any old cossie seems to have been ok, but this one has just been devoured by the chlorine. I am new to this pool though, so maybe it's more chloriney or something...

Thanks all.

Look for ones with either PBT in the faric (Speedo Ensurance is one brand, but almost all top brands do them) OR try the new nike XLA fabric, which is supposed to be as chlorine resistant, but a nicer fabric, with more stretch and a softer feel...

I have the same pair of Speedo PBT trunks I was wearing two years ago with no obvious signs of wear and I swim three times a week in them...

must be something to do with the girly look, as I swim usually a mile or more 3/4 times a week in tri shorts still looking like new, unlike the wearer.
