hello everyone

recently taken up jogging and i was thinking of buying a coolmax t-shirt. are they worth it? ive seen them at all diff prices etc. i seen one in a camping shop for 14.99 (http://www.millets.co.uk/cgi-bin/Millets.filereader?3f15b461047fde322740d43a3b40064e+EN/catalogpages/61/1). is there any notable difference between that and a 'proper' running one (ie from a running manufacturer. hope you can help

hi John

cant comment on the quality - i have a couple of cheapo ones from aldi (6-99) and ythey make me sweat like a pig !! and also have some more expensive ones and they are very similar

being polyester type fibre they are sweaty anyway but donyt get heavey and clammy like cotton

if you have a look at any of the shops over there on the right - you should be able to get a running brand coolmax t at clearance prices

Try T-Max... you can get nike etc t-shirts much cheaper, but you have to rake around. I find the cool-max type shirt so much better than cotton..

Hi John.

I have a couple of technical t-shirts from Millets - one is a Craghopper, the other is Peter Storm, which I think is their own brand. Both are pretty good, but, as they are more of an outdoors/trekking style shop, they do tend to be slightly thicker material, for walking rather than running, so can be a bit heavy for running in hot weather like we're having now. I like them for cooler days though, and they are better than cotton regardless of the temperature.

http://www.runnersneed.co.uk/shop/enter.html have some Sub4 coolmax shirts for a tenner at the moment. I have some of the Sub4 shorts and love them, and I'm pretty tempted to buy a t-shirt to match.

I'm a great fan of Nike Dri-fit Lightweight T's - which I've found more comfortable than Coolmax.

That can be had quite cheaply if you look for offers in the running mags or visit Nike Village store in Regent Street.

I brought a woman's one from millets and its ok but not as thin or long as a specialist running one I brought.

I like my Asics T-shirt and my Asics vest. The vest, strangely, is called Dave.

John
Know exactly what you mean about Asda, I brought two pair of running socks there for a £5 and they are really great.
