My trusty Forerunner 205 is about 4 years old now, and when I go out for runs longer than say half an hour the display just fades to the point where you can't see anything.No good when you're doing long runs. All the functions still work but it is a case of when I get back from a run to leave it off for a hour and then switch it back on and the display is normal for another half hour or so. I've tried resetting the watch but it is still the same. short of sending it back to garmin is there anything else I can do or is 4 years considered a good life for one of these and is it time to have it retired and put down?
