Think i must be missing something straightforwards but is there a way to set up autolaps in a workout without repeating the step and and over?

I currently have a warmup till lap press, run for say 6 miles, then cooldown but autolap doesnt seem to work and i can only get a split for the full 6 mile section.

As i say probably missing something obvious....

Activity Settings

scroll down twice to Auto Lap, click to go in I have mine set to on and 1km for the laps.

BT - That feature only works if you are in free running mode. if you are following a working from GC it doesn't autolap.

I saw someone posted a thread about it on the Garmin forums. The "Solution" is to set the workout to 1m intervals for 6 repeats (For a 6 mile workout), which I think is what you already worked out.

Fingers crossed for a firmware update for it!

D'oh

Yeah I did some more searching and for a reason that seems to technical for my brain it doesnt work.  Yay for 20 mile runs.  Might just give the calendar option a miss which seems a shame.

On a different note how are other people finding the race predictor times.  For me the seem a little on the ambitious side but that may be that im relatively new to running so there is more room for improvement?

Seems a little ambitious to me as well

I've just installed an update and now I can't view my history without first having a GPS connection. Is anyone else having this issue?

In fact, all my records have gone weird. They all say they were set today. Think I'll try a master reset

Check the date... First time I updated mine it set the date to be wrong, once I reset thst it was fine.

The reset didn't help with it wanting a GPS lock though to view the history (not that there is any history any more as i deleted it).

Will take it outside later and get a lock to fix the time and date and see if that does it.

Hi - I'm considering upgrading to FR620 or maybe FR220 (currently have FR210).

Apologies if already covered in this thread but there are a lot of replies and I haven't read the whole thing...

I'm almost certain it does having looked at a couple of reviews but I want to make absolutely sure...

Can 'mixed' workouts be programmed (either from calendar mode or direct on the watch)? What I mean is different length intervals and recoveries within the same workout. Eg the other day I ran warm up, 6 mins threshold, 60s recovery, 6 x 1km with 90s recoveries, 6 mins threshold, cool down. That takes a bit of messing around on the FR210...

Can that be programmed into the watch so I can just go out and run without having to press buttons during the workout??

Hi Calum,

The 220 definitely can. Configure the workout in GC (Or use existing ones) and you can do one of 2 things.

1. Push the workout to the watch so you can run it whenever you you see fit

2. Schedule the workout in your calendar, then push the calendar to the watch. You then choose the day's workout you are doing (Default to Today)

I do option 2 as I have my whole training plans et up in GC. Unfortunately though, if you do option 2, it doesn't also store each workout in the same location as option 1! That is, if I set up an interval workout on my calendar, then it shows on the watches Calendar mode. But if I wanted to run the same workout on an ad hoc basis I would ALSO have to push it to the watch in workout mode.

Hopefully some of that made a modicum of sense!

Thanks - the calendar thing sounds good. I got the 210 a couple of years ago with no idea how I would use it. It was just a method of tracking average pace for mile. When I got myself a training plan at the start of last year, I diligently put all the workouts in the calendar on GC then tried to push the calendar to the 210. Didn't work. Then tried to push individual workouts. Didn't work. What a waste of time! My own fault but I had gathered from somewhere that it could be done!

This year I've gone old school and just use an excel spreadsheet but would be great to not have to pre-programme the watch at the start of each workout. And mixed workouts would also be a massive help!

(It's my birthday in a few weeks and my wife doesn't know what to get me...)

Cheers

I should also not that at the moment the feature isn't working. Garmin Connect are mid update and whatever they've started doing has broken the ability to push either of them to my 220, much to my annoyance yesterday as I had altered the planned session!

Wondering why Garmin haven't provided a facility to configure your watch (220 or 620) from either GE or GC when it's connected. This facility would make things so much simpler.

Or have I missed something
