Does anyone know where I can get a decent sports bra/crop top in 'wicky' material but is not super-supportive-industrial strength?? Just a bit of support will do!

DavidB is not here.

M&S do a good range with a graded support levels mands - 1,2 and 3 if I remember right.

<<hope DavidB is going to pay me for covering his shift>>

Nike do some nice wicky crop tops . . .and they're definately not scaffolding. Or those Sportjock tops? They're really good, and they come in colours--not the usual black or white nonsense (tho beware, the pink one is so pale it looks like it's been through a red sock wash).

Mands - worth giving Wee Piglet a shout on this one. She's got a new wicking bra and it's making her run faster!

Hi Mands,

I also vote for

Not only do they have a helpful online catalogue (and some sort of java applet that helps identify the best bra for the purpose) but they're v. friendly and efficient too. I bought two bras over the phone late on Tuesday afternoon, and they both arrived on Wednesday morning. One felt too small so I rang them up to let them know and said I'd post it back. I expected them to send a replacement when it arrived with them, but the bloke I spoke to couldn't have been more helpful and told me to hang onto it. He said he'd send out the replacement and I could then try them together.

I was very impressed :)

(Incicentally, I went for the Sportjock in "Supplex" - nice, soft, wicking and pretty in cornflower blue :-)

"The bloke you spoke to"? How do blokes get jobs at Sportsbras? Where do I apply?

Mands, ignore these amatures. I can help but I need to know what size you are. No good just giving me the letters I'm afraid as sports bras are highly specialised equipment. You need to stand up straight and cup you breasts with both hands, give a slight squeeze and then tell me how they feel. The more detail you are able to give me the more I will be able to help. If you are not sure what to look for then let me know and I may be able to visit personally (no charge). It may take me a while though as I live in the Midlands and only have a Raleigh Chopper (and the chain keeps coming off).

Only too happy to help, David.

Mands - you may be relieved to know that DavidB has been put in a padded cell on General.
14/03/2003 at 11:15
DavidB, you stepped over the line from lovable rouge to dirty perv back there I fear! :)
14/03/2003 at 12:16
Hey DavidB -

Who let you out the cell? I was here first!
14/03/2003 at 12:23
Erm, on second thoughts having read back through the thread ....

David, I'm sorry if I seem a prude or whatever, but maybe you were slightly over the line there?
14/03/2003 at 12:38
How you going to know where the line is if you dont cross it once in a while

(believe me, I know whereof I speak)
14/03/2003 at 13:01
I was only pretending to be offended.

(Takes a sight more than that I can tell you)

No problem mands, anytime. Sorry about the unwanted advice, it can get like that on Gear sometimes. It's one of the reasons I try to monitor things.

Nice deflection David!

Chimp, don't worry, scowly moderator is on hand to sort him if he gets over-excited again!
17/03/2003 at 14:27
mands - i'm just jealous you can run without an 'industrial strength' bra!
17/03/2003 at 17:35
