I've just visited the Gmaps Pedometer website and the drop-down menu that allows you to select Uk seems to have gone. Oh noooo!!

Anyone know what's happened? I love that tool!

Weird. Just drag the map over to the UK though ? It'll still work.

Click on "More Options" next to "GO" and it lets you select UK, China and Japan from a drop down menu.

It's not there James, that's the problem! Found what I want with the dragging technique, but what a faff!

Try and put a UK location eg. London and see if the message box comes up.

I have a problem when I use Gmap - pedometer - at the top left, there are 4 arrows, which either go up/go right/go left but the last one that should be "go down", takes me back to the USA. Am I doing something wrong ?

Thanks Ixus, I posted a question on their support forum and they replied straight away:

Well, at first I thought the answer to your question was that the switch to google's geocoder made a separate country select box unneccessary. But in response to your message I tried searching for "London, England", and got no love. It turns out that Google does not really provide geocoding for China, Japan, or the UK. (See also here)

I've now implemented a "more options" link after the location search boxes, which will bring back the country dropdown for China, Japan, and the UK. In these cases, the gecoding will revert to the geocoder we used to use, which could handle the whole world equally.

Sooo, 'More Options' is there now.
