My son is 10 and in the same position. He runs in the kit he wears for football training at the moment, and i've ordered him a club vest for racing in. But I wanted to get him some more kit to run in for Christmas...haven't really looked yet but will be interested in what's posted here.

Not looked specifically for kids stuff in there but Decathlon is usually a good call.

Jaggyman. - site not saying much at the moment but can contact them via it and shop is in Great Western Road Glasgow.

We were looking for shoes for my 11 year and they seemed to cater so might do other stuff. Indeed specialist running shops will often be able to help even if they have to order in.

Trinity - my youngster has the smallest club vest and my wife still had to get the needle out and take it in so it would fit him - well he has a runner's build :-)

Brooks- i got my sons shoes in achilles heel(£20 a pair excellent value)also(£25 for spikes) but they had no kids clothing on sale.

As a last resort i tried JJB sports today and lo and behold a short sleeved training top and a long sleeved training top both were of a dri fit material and came to £11 and i also got a rain jacket from sports soccer for £5.

Really good junior wear from newline, specifically running performance wear. They are a catalogue compnay so if you look on their website you can call them, Jenny Brown is the rep. Their long tights are good, and sprint tight shorts.

Start Fitness have a youngsters' section:

Also, M&M Sports ( have various lines but they change on a daily basis so you need to be persistent.
