I picked up a Navman R300 last week - love it for pacing my weekend runs etc, simple to use, easy to read the display on the run, provides everything that I need and nothing that I don't, mwah!

Just boinging this for Happyaslarry in case of any interest! :-))

So with 25 posts this appears to be the favourite thread for Navman nosies..... It has been pointed out to me as a trendy cool alternative to my beloved 201. I have my heart set on a 301 for Xmas - should I start preparing for a trial separation from Garmin????

I was under the impression (perhaps misguided) that this Navman was going to be a new era of GPS and I think I must have assumed it was an MP3 player too.

I think I invented a GPS with MP3 player in my head out on my last long run. It would tell you your average heart rate over the top of the music for each mile you did, there would be a button you could press to get it into your headphones without looking at a watch (this became a requirement as my HRM doesn't have backlit screen!) and it would just be very very cool.

There would also be an emergency contact button so if you were in trouble you could press a button and an auto message goes to a nominated mobile phone with your exact location on. Or at the very least the exact distance from the mobile phone the message is sent to.

This might be getting a bit too wish-list but surely it won't be long until one is available for less than £200?????

oops, started this thread and haven't contributed since, I ended up buying a garmin 201, due to them being sold in argos for £149 and it just so happened that we had 149 quid on the nectar card, missus wanted to use it for something boring like food shopping! anyway it was obviously fate and I have been well chuffed with it, by the way you can also get 6quid off in argos by using the vouchers in the catalogue.
08/03/2005 at 09:58 you buy your running shoes there too....?

nope just from fashion shops (puma h-street)

Leeds Lass, it's in the argos extra page 101 019/8383 good idea to try the ring and reserve/stock availability. good thing is you can take out 3yrs cover (20quid) and reading on the other thread they can be prone to freezing. don't forget to use the camping eqpt voucher.

sorry, garmin 201 in argos is 139 quid!

Thanks Moor Man I am sourcing one in the area as we speak.
Great to be able to see one before buying and using vouchers makes it as cheap as other places online.
