I'm a new starter to running.

Can anyone advise me of shops near me where I can get kitted out with a pair of running shoes?

I live in the Manchester Area.

Running Bear in Alderley edge are good (they also have a website www.runningbear.co.uk) or there is Up & Running in Stockport, don't know if there are any more?!

Julie - Choice of three in the Manchester area:
Running Bear on the main high street in Alderley Edge,just near station.Very good service and choice,especially off-road.

Up and Running,towards the top of Market Street in Hyde,just off the M67.Huge choice,with podiatrist and treadmill to make sure you get the right shoes.

Personal Best in Chadderton,just opposite Asda petrol station.Smaller shop but very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Any of those three would help you out,no problems.Good luck....

Sweatshop in Chorley have quite a good selection of shoes and other stuff you might need. I found them quite helpful.

I actually went there earlier this evening. They were fantastic.

I tried on so many pairs until I found the right ones for me.

I'd definitely venture up there again.
