Any advice on shoes with really good forefoot cushioning?

I'm 88Kg (13st 12lb ish?), 8 - 9 minute miles pace. Neutral gait so I don't need significant stability features.

asics gel kumo work for me glenn - are neutral - am 105kg with similar pace. just bought my 2nd pair of these

What's happened to the U's, man? Winning away by 0-2's and 0-3's and then home and away 4-1 defeats - then the penalty debacle at Macc! Its coming apart - I can't stand it ...

Relax SB, they're just the same heart-stopping rubbish they ever were.

Try Adidas supernova cushion, hurt my toe playing football 10 years ago these and the supernova controls have loads of fore-foot cushioning

My 17 stone Big Angry Friend swears by his Brooks Dyads...

Never seen those either Jj.

So many shoes, so little time.

Lastly, look at Asics Nimbus. Neutral but heavy and lots of cushioning. May last longer than Supernovas...

I find them too heavy for me and don't like em at all.

I am similar weight to you and I run in Mizuno Mercury III which have plenty of cushioning for road and pavement running.

The Asics Cumulus work for me - best of all they have plenty of width in the toebox for my big feet (size12). Seem to run faster in these that the nimbus

Gerald
Mizuno Mercury III are a stabilty shoe - suitable for mild pronators, but not neutral.
Love my Merc III, although preferred last years colour schemes.

As a 17 stone 6'3" plodder of some years standing I have tried just about every 'Big Guy' shoe that there is over the last decade. I know that its horses for courses but I had endured years of those little blisters on my instep from Asics MC+ (now called Koji) and Kayano. In the last year I got a pair of Brooks Addiction and then upgraded to Brooks Beast. They are simply the most comfortable shoes that I have never known, supportive and stable like nothing else. Since I have gone over to these I have upped my mileage and got a whole new enthusiasm for running. What more can I say?? But then I am a few stone heavier than you...

You could always try NB 1022s, loads of cushioning and quite flexible. No stability features but as you're neutral you shouldn't need 'em.

For a heavyweight (like me) neutral - highly recommend Mizuno Wave Creation. Terrific cushioning (not too firm or too spongy) in both heel and forefoot.

Beasts and Addictions ARE good (The Beasts have forefoot cushioning). However they are more motion control shoes
