What is your favourite low(er)-cost running tight?

Hello, As I was changing after my run today I noticed that a ladder has appeared in the seat of my running tights, which surely bodes ill for my decency on a run in the near future! I'm currently running in Skins A400 compression tights. Aside from the fact that I have to hold them up for the first mile or so, I really like them. They were a gift, however, so now that it's time for a replacement I am ideally looking for something with a slightly lower price tag. I was just wondering if anyone out there had any favourite lower cost options?

Linebreak... and are you a Lord or a Chancellor?

Neither and both.

Lower cost option: mend the tights!

Any advice on mending them? My wife is a seamstress and suggested that they would not be mendable.

Ron Hills. You can get em for about 10-15 quid. They not all fancy pants compression shit, but they will last years and years and years.

If it's just a simple ladder, I'd just sew it up.  You'll have a 'scar', but that shouldn't matter.

Maybe it's a more complex damage, if your wife thinks it can't be done?

I've got a pair of those skins a400, and tbh I don't really like them.

My other ones are some cheap Ronhills and some New balance tights and they're much better ive been using the same two pairs for two winters.

the supermarket lidls often do a week when they have running gear for sale......i bought running tights very very cheap but perfectly durable about 5 or 6 quid. they even had a bit of reflector on and a very small non zipped pocket, anyway i lost a pair to my daughter so bought another pair for myself .......great for running around the countryside as i frequently ladder mine on brambles etc while out so have had to stop buying expensive models. they did mens version too

I run in Skins A200s for long runs and adidas Supernovas (non-compression) on shorter ones.

Thanks for the useful advice! Perhaps ,y main issue is that I wear my Skins for every single run; perhaps a cheaper pair and a compression pair might be a good idea this time round!

I got some more mile compression tights for about £12 last year. Spot on, except no key pocket. Lasting very well.

Ron Hill tracksters for me. Good prices on Amazon and tough as old boots. I have a pair that are still going strong after 10 years. I use them for running, cycle touring, 5-a-side and more.  And not everyone can carry off wearing tights. Still a very popular choice for fellrunners.

Sub Sports compression available on Amazon.
