I'm just starting out trail running and am trying to find a comfy pair of trainers for my wide feet! I realise I need to try a few on first but there are just so many to search through I thought I'd ask for some help so I have a good starting point... I usually run on roads in Brooks adrenalines. I bought some salomon XR crossmax trainers but after one short mile my feet felt like they'd been in a vice! Any help would be greatly appreciated
I also have wide feet and recently bought some trail shoes. I went to a specialist running shop (Up&Running in Cheltenham) and the guy there was ace - I got a pair of Inov8 trailroc 226 and love them!
Trailrocs by inov8 are good as they use their anatomical fit. Take a look on the site inov-8.com and under products you will be able to see which others are also using an antomical last and the fit will be very similar for all of them.
Brooks Cascadia are supposed to be good trail shoes, not tried them yet but that's what I've been recommended for my very wide feet. Make sure when you're buying them that you actually get the wide fitting version - I was told Brooks were great for wide feet then the silly guy in the shop sent me off with a pair of Ghosts in a B not a D width fitting!
