oh, don't worry, I wasn't apologising... just backpedalling a bit!

24/05/2013 at 22:29

Would that be Erewash then? A bit underlating?

24/05/2013 at 22:34

No, Erewash isn't for a few weeks.

don't let me down now...

Go JP-22:50

Perfect conditions for Andover this morning. Just watch out for those cheeky rises and sharp turns after the bridge JP. As an early get out clause for you, my Andover PB is 35 secs slower than race time predictor states.

25/05/2013 at 08:48

Cop-out - I believe Joseph's McMillan predictions for 5k are around 25 mins (half) or, er, 40 mins (full). So at least he'll definitely beat one of those.

Jindalee, are you doing the parkrun too?

Good luck Joseph, hopefully you're finishing round about now.

Good running both! 4 mins by Xmas should be doable, as long as you put the training in of course.
25/05/2013 at 11:21

Well done Joseph and Jindalee. Jindalee, sorry to hear about your side pain, but on a positive note at least this means you'll be able to beat him easily next time.

How did all the other parkrunners get on? Bob? And I wonder if Sussex Runner managed to smash his sub-20 parkrun target...

Great conditions this morning, but I found it hard work! I forgot to stop my garmin at the end, so I'm waiting for my official result to confirm, but I believe I finished in around 23:06. If correct, then it is my new PB by 26 seconds.

Well done on starting today JP.  I don't envy you trying to take more than six minutes off your time.

25/05/2013 at 12:28

That's great Tenjiso - even if the official time is slightly different there's no way that's not a PB. Just goes to show what plenty of training and dedication can achieve......

25/05/2013 at 12:33

Well done, 'Joseph'. Get yourself into some proper training now and watch that fall.

Waiting for official time but will be about 4 seconds outside a PB in about 21:01 or so I think. Colwick is still quite a bit slower than Rushcliffe I'd think despite the drier conditions. More chaotic start, tighter turns, not quite so even paths.

Kept pace with the 20:00 pacer for the first 1.5km and then let him go, but paid for the fast start by dying on my arse in the final km which dropped out to 4:20 plus!

Over a minute and a half quicker than when I last did this course back in February though.

Right - time to go and play cricket now!

25/05/2013 at 12:52
Well done to all.
25/05/2013 at 12:56

Official result just received: 23:07  I'll take that!

Thanks Lit - I'm pleased that it has been achieved after simply following P&D recovery mesocycle five. Hopefully the 10k speed training will bring the time down over the next few months.

Thank you Millsy. Doing another Marthon plan atm for Salisbury 54321 then I might look at a training plan for improving my 5k time. Have also entered 2 HM in September...

Thank you Literatin. Yes this pain is really annoying. It always comes with I run faster. Sometimes it gets so bad that I have to walk or even stop until it eases up a bit. Maybe it's my bodies way to tell me it doesn't like to go fast and prefers longer distances run slow lol.
