JP.I would have put money on you beatinmy PB as a 5k race seems just the right distance for you......I'm sure you will next week......

24.54 for me. quite happy with it

Went and ran the Queen Elizabeth parkrun. Came 2nd

Had planned to take it fairly easy, but when I found myself in 5th place at the 1K mark I decided to push and see how high up I could finish.

Time was 1 minute slower than my PB, but it's a tough course.

Well done Tom!

DF, that's why no one worrth their salt does all their training on a treadmill!

get out there and get used to different paces, a track is a good place to start.

26/05/2013 at 07:05

Stevie, then we'll get 'the parkrun wasn't as fast as the track surface...'

26/05/2013 at 08:02

That's true. There's excuses in most things if you look hard enough.

Can't beat a good training schedule though. But those are cheating right DF?

JP.not sure about going off too fast..........5k to me is the only race where you do run off as if your bollocks have caught fire and then just go through the pqain to hold on as much as you can.......

maybe your problem is that you haven't done any longer running so no endurance to then keep going after the 3k mark......

no pint in just training by running 5k on your treadmill several times a week

26/05/2013 at 17:24

Seren, JP probably knows his training isn't exactly maximising things....but he might not be too fussed about that.

He would monumentally smash 24mins just by a few months of hitting 25-30miles on the roads, whatever ass over tit way he went about it

25 miles a month? He could probably manage that...

26/05/2013 at 17:34

 ahem....per week.

26/05/2013 at 18:58

Well done on those parkrun times guys.

28/05/2013 at 09:23

Good parkrunning everyone. Don't envy you JP having to take 4 minutes 21 seconds off your PB in 7 months but good luck!

28/05/2013 at 09:39

He was sandbagging so it's fine

28/05/2013 at 09:41

Well, no-one came that close in the sweepstake, but the winner was Skinny Fetish Fan with a prediction of 23:57, and the runner up was GingerG with 25:13.

Parkrun next week Joseph?

28/05/2013 at 09:44

I'm up for next week too

28/05/2013 at 09:49
If next week then which one JP? I haven`t done a parkrun for a couple of months so fancy a run out.
