Ha...that's the way to do it...good stuff! I'm sure there will be other races, I'm certainly planning to get some regular local racing in now - maybe catch you for a drink next time.
And ouch - that's a fast first mile - not surprising you suffered a little from that!
Well done both. Nice one on smashing your target Bob and excellent work on 2nd lady literatin! I've never done a 5 miler, looking at doing either the Long Eaton or Notts AC version later this year.
Lit - nice running and drinking!
BBB - good running and enjoyed the report on the MG thread - sub 7 racing over 5 miles is a good milestone.
Thanks, Skinny. Yes, very pleased - felt like another breakthrough last night. 42:00 in a 10k in just under 4 weeks is the next big target. Would take me from literally nothing in terms of running background to V40 Power of 10 qualification in a smidge over 6 months.
Been meaning to stop by your thread to offer congrats on your big performance at Saturday's parkrun as well by the way. Terrific effort, and likewise enjoyed reading of your successful duelling (truelling?!) with Mr F and Mr S.
So anyway, Joseph, did you do that 10 mile training run you were planning yet?
Well???????? As last week's winner I am awaiting news?
EDIT: Checked myself using parkrun search - you didn't run.
No parkrunning last week, it seems. Or training. How about this week JP?
Have ordered my yellow vest.
i think JP got bored with 5k and this thread after jusat a week.he really has got very lttle stamina....
How disappointing - I thought he'd actually managed to start a proper training thread in spite of himself!
What else you expect of JP, he's all talk after all...
I couldn't make the parkrun this week either. Good thing about them is that there is always next week.
any truth in the rumour that he was finding 5k pointless, so expect a "3000m here i come" thread very soon.
If he did Dean, I'd hope he didn't try the 3k at Watford. The beating from a string of U15s could be a final nail in the coffin!
Stick to parkruns I reckon. Standard is a lot more welcoming!
DR7 -- By "pointless" do you mean "difficult"?
I think it was the Great man Homer Simpson himself who said "if something is hard to do, it's not worth doing"
When Homer Simpson was accused of being half-assed he insisted he was using his whole ass - not sure you could ever say as much about JP
Where is JP anyway?
And what on earth was this forum like before, JP, Screamy, Litty came along!
I've been here since 2007 thank you very much!
