So, is a 2 hour marathon possible (even on a downhill course with a tail-wind)?
It's getting close, and I think it will be done.
Scary fast running.
The wind factor has thrown up some interesting potential for an unofficial sub-2hr marathon. The consensus seems to be that the tailwind was responsible for 3-4 minutes in improved performances so the chances are that the barrier could be broken by a runner of Gebrselassie's quality with a little bit of help from the wind.
It may take a bit longer for the official record to go though.
