You’d be amazed you know

I get asked by loads of people what my running does for me,

Well I can tell you

Bottom line is- my running keeps me physically fit and helps make me feel real good about myself, so, even on a bad day I could with relative ease knock out a HM with Phillip , and maybe even more

It keeps my physcology usually very strong ,and helps me control most of life’s problems that challenge me

In life we usually say “if only reality was as good as theory “

Well for me, as soon as I get a problem in life, “ so strong is my running and power of thinking and my psychology “ that I switch my mind immediately straight to my running, you’d be amazed how I use it to keep my problems at bay

It’s a very powerful commodity is the mind, and if it’s relaxed and strong it can work wonders

I remember thinking just a few weeks ago

Just as with 2008 /forum/smilies/confused_smiley.gif[/img]howGlossaryDefinition('FLM');]FLM, got just 36 hours notice to run, “ Peeps said can you prepare in that time “

I LMAO, I thought, course I can,

Well again a few weeks ago, I knew we were doing a HM on the Sunday, a tough little sod it was, we clocked 2:11

But on the Wednesday before I heard there was a place in a marathon on the Saturday, I rang up got in and away we went

And we’ll do it again “ you see if wee don’t “

I'm getting injured, does that count?

I can see where you're coming from - (isn't that a horid turn of phrase) i think I undrstand a bit about what running does for you from reading the above.

I have a job that I hate that provides no reward, so in the middle of the day I run or swim. It gives the day some meaning or purpose if I'm 'training' even if my goals are distant.

Being injured doesn't bother me so much - I can't work so I do other things to fill my time.

Running I think, helps find meaning, even if that meaning is running.

Think so, enjoying it again and trying to loose alot of weight. Running gives me a buzz when I've had a good session. At moment I'm just recovering from a morning fartlek session !
