Hi,

I commute to work and have got into listening to podcasts and audiobooks (admitedly mostly Karl Pilkington) was wondering if anyone could recommend some good ones about running. I've tried looking but havent been very succesful.

Cheers,

You can get "Born To Run" by Christopher McDougal on (unabridged) Audiobook - I've read the book and am enjoying listening to the Audiobook during my commute...

 +1 for MarathonTalk

ben greenfield fitness - or getfitguy. Get fit guy is short and a bit beginnery - the other one is an hour long each time. They are both the same chap but to a different audience and are both on itunes.

if you're looking for podcasts on running, may i suggest Running and Life (http://runningandlife.co.uk). Interviews with people doing amazing things in the world of running. This month: Andy McMenemy on his attempt to set a world record of 66 ultras over 66 consecutive days in "Challenge 66", and Mike Buss who would like to set a world record..........for running while on fire from head to toe (i kid you not!).

Not much advice on running podcasts - I've tried a few and find they get boring after a while. I tend to listen to R4 ones & ones about outdoors/backpacking.

My local library does audiobooks for free now, which is fab, and worth checking out if yours does too!

Marathon talk is great. Been listening to that for three weeks now. I like the tips they give about running but also the insight into elite athletes training programmes. I cant believe the level some people are at.

Run Zone is good but can be a bit hit and miss. Last Weeks with the sports science feature was excellent but the week before there was nothing really of note. Just the presenter having a laugh with his mate. Its still worth a listen though.

Marathon Talk is excellent I think. Been listening for nearly a year now so the presenters have become like old friends.

I used to listen http://steverunner.com/ a lot. Haven't done so for a while as I've not been running for a while.

He's a Bostonian plodder who normally runs the Boston Marathon. His podcasts are eclectic and possibly a bit over-cerebral for some. He's a big fan of Dr George Sheehan, as am I. His earlier podcasts on the great man are worth listening to.

Must say, his website isn't that easy to navigate. You have to dig around a bit to find his earlier podcasts. (He's currently on number 279.)
