I don't think so, the other green spaces around there aren't really parks. Plus it says Battersea Park on the newsletter, not Battersea, whereas Greenwich is just Greenwich.

Ooh, thank you! I didn't even know about this one, is it new? I thought my nearest one was in Bromley but Avery Hill Park is (just about) in my normal running territory. I'm getting back from injury at the moment and trying to decide when would be a good time to embarrass myself on behalf of the club in a 5,000m race on the track. This could be a good little tester.

Phil,

Greenwich is a nice testing course, being 3 laps of undulating terrain.

It almost all on grass though so it will resemble a good old English XC after any significant rain.

Nice event though and deserves some support.....

prf - Cheers. I've just had a look at the event page and it turns out a couple of guys from my club have run it. Hopefully it'll pick up in numbers and I'll definitely look to give it some support over the summer. I'm some way off racing right now (not even letting myself loose on tempo runs yet) but I'll probably get out for an easy run over the Green Chain Walk at the weekend and do a course reccy.

Bored, googling, (can you tell that it's nearly 5pm) but it looks like this is very much in the planning stage still. Latest update on the parkfun Facebook is "Battersea parkrun - will the council play ball?"

Yeah hopefully it'll get go ahead - for Bradford it only took about 4 weeks from approval ... so lets hope this can happen as quickly (if it gets it of course!)

What happened, did the Battersea Parkrun ever begin? I haven't seen that one on the Parkrun site, although it has been known for me to virtually have my eyes shut and miss stuff at times

Never started, not sure what the sticking point was, but there's now one a few miles away in Brockwell Park.
