Hi People
Recently started running and am looking to do the Cardiff Marathon this year. As far as training is going - im getting there - and loving it but have on idea how many calories I should be consuming per day to get my body in top shape.
I run about 30 miles a week and weigh around 11st8lbs.
Can anyone suggest a figure?

it's not something that is easy to say!
Depends on your millage, what else you do, if you are trying to lose weight, gain weight or maintain!

Thanks evil pixie
Mileage 30perweek 1 run of 15ish 2 shorter ones and a game of football. Dont want to loose - really just want to make sure my body can function to its best during training / races without gaining.

if you are looking to maintain then you need to eat enough to cover your BMR and then about 100 cals per mile you run
google BMR to get an approx figure
look at 60% of cals from carbs 20% from fat and 30% from protein
good quality foods
low amounts/no processed foods
fresh fruit and veg!
and lots of water!
