Hi there,

Going to Cardiff for the weekend in a few weeks time. As training for my first FLM, dont want to miss one of my long runs!! Took a look at a relevant Ordnance survey map this afternoon and can see a trail called the Taff Trail.

Does anyone use this for running on - is it a good place, hilly etc??

Or are there any other suggestions, as I want to keep of roads/pavements, and will probably be doing up to 15 miles.

Thanks
Victoria

The Taff Trail is really nice, mixture of concrete and gravel paths with a little bit of mud thrown in for good measure.Fairly flat as well. You can quite happily get in 15 miles along there, out on one side and back on the other. There is also Bute Park and surrounding fields at the city end of the Taff Trail.Enjoy...

Yup Taff Trail is a good long run, I run along it at lunch times, just have to look out for the odd biker. Beautiful scenery I know it starts in Cardiff bay and runs up past the side of the millennium stadium and thru into Sophia Gardens, then goes on for miles... never reached the end, bit like a rainbow for me really!

There's another good run but I'm not sure of the distance, go to Penarth and Park down by the pier, follow the one way road system and the sign posts for the cliff path (after a certain point -no bikers aloud!) and just follow it round, I think the'll be a map on the internet somewhere? but the views are amazin!
