I live fairly close to Richmond park but not close enough to run there and back and actually run around it. Previously I've driven - left stuff in the boot, taken buses which meant wearing everything (wore it and was frozen the whole way back - this was back in Feb)

I'm about to start cycling to work and was also thinking of cycling to Richmond Park and other more scenic places to run. My question is do people leave stuff on their bikes (work has lockers, I have access to locked storage near Hyde Park), gyms - but can't see any details of lockers etc - I'm just talking about a long sleeved top/ maybe some longer trousers- nothing valuable.

Small lightweight backpack? Decent sized waistpack?

what stuff do you need to take???

I would have thought a light jacket, and dry tshirt would be enough.....which you can carry in a waist pack, which you would run with?

can lock your helmet to your bike.....and thats about it no?

i don't see the problem with driving. That's what i do. I don' take any more stuff with me than I would if running from home, other than a bottle of water for when I get back to the car.

I've never done the exact same thing, but often run to/from work, which has similar problems.   I wear a backpack with my clothes for the day, breakfast, lunch, wallet, etc, which sounds a lot, but is actually fine.

I've got a dakine rucksack, which is quite small, padded, and very comfy.  It can be a bit of a pain on days when I've been disorganised, and forgot to leave my hairstraightners, toiletries, makeup, etc at work the night before.   But as long as I keep the stuff I'm carrying to a minimum, I barely notice it.
