I am trying to work out my expected marathon time? I am considering entering a marathon later this year and want a vague idea how long I might take . I have been running one year but have never run more than 10 miles. I did this in 74mins. Can I use this time to calculate an expected time???

  Help please

Hi Rob, yes you can, although bear in mind that it is only an estimate (and assumes you have done all the appropriate training).

There is a calculator on the RW site

http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/general/rws-race-time-predictor/1681.html

or this one

  http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/mcmillanrunningcalculator.htm

Cheers Sheri, that was a great help.
