Would Forest Gump count?

Marathon Man is one of my favourite films and although he's not running in it a lot, I love the scene where he races that bloke by the fence.

Without Limits and Prefontaine are two of my favourite films ever.

Other running films I've got on dvd are 'Dean Karnazes - Ultra Marathon Man' and 'Spirit Of The Marathon'

A 70's film called the Jericho Mile. A bit of a cult classic about a guy in an American jail who tries to qualify for the US Olympic mile team. Great film and soundtrack. I saw it as a kid and bought it on DVD recently to rewatch.

Sounds interesting Daymion - I'm gonna add it to my Lovefilm list.  (Which means I'll probably end up seeing it in 5 years time if I'm lucky.)

Run Lola Run - it isn't about running but there is a lot of running in it. really makes you want to go for run.  Lola has to run round the city trying to get some money together to save her boyf from being bumped off by the local mafia types. It's a german film.

Haven't seen it for years, but The Games is a film from 1970 about athletes preparing for the Olympic marathon.  It stars Michael Crawford.

James Bond - Casino Royale and District 13 (dir Luc Beson) - both fantastic examples of parkour (free running) in action.

Mission Impossible 3 - Tom Cruise goes for it in that

American Flyers - Kevin Costner. Great cycling film.

Escape to Victory - Pele, Ozzy, et al

million dollar baby-amazing boxing film.

A bit obscure but in great movie Hot Fuzz, Piers Brosnan's character was accused of using his skills

as a fun runner to commit a crime

Was the crime fun-running?

The Four Minute Mile - stayed up well beyond my bedtime the night before an exam because I couldn't stop watching. Even though I know how it turns out in the end

Run Fat Boy Run - I know it's already been said, but I love that film. Towards the end of the marathon when asked how he feels, Simon Pegg responds: "How the f**k do you think I feel?" Hilarious
