Being allowed to change pens?

I've been put in the 'Pink' wave for this because when I entered it was without much training after a while off running and I wasn't sure what I'd do.

My training has gone well, and I'm back to where I think I should do a 2h05m.  People who entered at the same time and put down 2h15m estimated times have been put in the green wave.

I'm not worried about running with them, but I don't want to have to get past strings of 4 or 5 women all holding hands which is bound to happen in the slow group?

Anyone know the chances of being allowed to move up a pen?  Would they need training records etc?  (By being allowed I mean by BUPA, I don't want the hassle of trying to have to sneak into a different group).

I think it's probably too late to change your wave placing now. I put 1:50 on my form and I am in the orange group! However I'm moving down to white to be with a friend so if someone were to sneak into orange it may sort of cancel out ???

Did this last year and didn't meet up with the wave in front for quite a while.  Get to the front of your wave if you can't move up one.

Well that was easy - Walk to the information desk... I think I'm in the wrong wave... tell them expected time.... get new race number.
