payout from my sponsors."

But I thought the point of them was that the absorbed the impact, but then sprung back to their original shape, so its the 'pushing back into their original shape' that gives you the lift, its not like it absorbs like a sponge but doesnt give anything back.

So when your foot falls they absorb all your kinetic energy, then spring back to give you maybe 1mm of lift? All for £110. Doesn't sound like a very good deal!

how is something brand new that's sold in small numbers to a niche group a "trend" ?

Im not entirely convinced of the science here - surely any extra energy gained from the push off is lost somewhere else (maybe in the momentum when landing or taking away energy your foot would store?). At any rate I dont think I'm seconds away from breaking and WR's.

Its a marketing exercise.

Here you go.  Even more lift.

Well when I use them I feel like Oscar Pisterious ........ you know the bit about the carbon blades, not the bit about killing your girlfriend in cold blood then concocting a story involving though you were apparently so concerned about intruders that you slept with the bedroom balcony door wide open .....

Im getting those for my ultra! should be able to finish in around an hour with those bad boys on!

You remind me of Frankie Boyle - the absence of humour is made up for by cheapshots designed to shock.

bought a pair of Boost just over a week ago.  I used to wear Asics kayano.  My first run was my usual 2.7 miler.  I got a PB breaking previous record of 19.19 by 40 seconds, coming in at 18.39.  Couple of days later I tried my 4.5 mile route and again got a PB clocking 34.30.  2 minutes faster than my previous fastest time.  I honestly think the Boost have increased my speed and endurance.  They are light, feel very responsive and give good support.  I think Adidas size 11 are a bit tighter than Asics size 11 and I maybe should have gone for a half size up.  Overall , very happy with them.  Doing the coniston 14 on 23rd MArch which will really test them out !

That'll be the placebo effect that DF3 mentioned. I believe it is located directly above the sole. Exact location is dependant on your height.

Frankly, I'm suspicious of the motives of anybody who make a grand total of two posts on this site that both say the same thing.

I've broken my race PB's by good margins without purchasing a pair of Boosts.  Which proves it's just down to my lucky underpants.

13/03/2013 at 11:29

I'm guessing your lucky pants are red?

13/03/2013 at 15:01

Brown

They may have been red.  I can't remember that far back.

You're right to call bullshit ! I am bull shitting.

In all seriousness I did my first run in them today and they felt very good . Was this new running trainer syndrome ? Probably but there is something bouncy bouncy about them .

I felt like tigger from Winnie the Pooh
