Not getting any younger I would like to attempt a PB for my next marathon (the magical under 4 hrs is singing to me...oh I wish..) I would like to run it this side of August ideally, cos of other commitments. Any advice as to which marathon in Ireland is likely to offer a pb?

thanks

I can't imagine Galway is too hilly, maybe worth a look? Right time of the year too I think

hi Laurilee

I think Portumna is considered to be the fastest and most "friendliest" marathon in Ireland. Forget the ones on the west coast..

Longford is one of my favourite places to run.It is a well organised race, there is a pasta party the night before the race and food after the race all included in the price. There is also a dance night and prizegiving.

Everyone is very helpful and it certainly lives up to it,s name of the friendly marathon.

Good luck and I hope you have a great time.
