Flo Po, I'm afraid I have inherited his interest in running (but a bit late in the day!) but am still waiting for the speed gene to kick in,

I don't mind. Just as long as I get some of the attention that I seek so much.

I do appreciate NLR comments. All advice is useful especially when you are new to a sport.

I can imagine there is nothing more annoying than someone assuming they can complete a marathon with very little training.

I've always been fit and heathy but know I have a LONG way before I can even achieve a 10k outdoors.

Since my last post i've been in touch with my local club and they have been very helpful.

Best of luck to anyone hoping to apply for the ballot tomorrow.

The thing about wanting to run down the mall: you can do this any Sunday you like for free!
