Carolyn Hunter-Rowe,apparantly an ultra marathon runner. An old friend who lost contact with her when she moved north knew that I ran too,and asked if I had heard of her thru running.I havent but said I would put a shout out for her

Have you tried Googling her? We did this for a friend of ours who also has a fairly unusual name and came up with details of the club she belongs to (as her race results were listed).

I believe she was a member of the Road Runners club. I haven't seen her name for a while.

You could also try the 100Km club or the organisers of any ultra race in the UK, as the ultra scene tends to be one where everyone knows everyone else.

unfortunately you can't be too careful now days

this could get interesting!!
24/04/2005 at 18:42
i agree. there have been one or two instances of loony stalkers on or close to these forums.

I have only provided info he could have found himself, he still has to approach the club. In fact I got nervous at the mention of Rowe and Hunter in the same name!

ROFL Eye Spy.

There's a guy who used to run for Barnsley AC who was on the invalidity, so he used to enter races under false names so his name wouldn't appear in the paper.

Carolyn Hunter-Rowe used to run for Knavesmire Harriers in York some years ago. At her peak she ran marathons in sub 2:45. Methinks that she could easily outrun the majority of stalkers {o:

What do all the references to Rowe and Hunter mean - I think I must have missed something?
25/04/2005 at 10:58
I was in the same running club as Carolyn recently. try Horwich Harriers

She was a world 100km champion for those that haven't heard of her.

lets just say that in this instance - from your point of view - ignorance is bliss

thanks for all your replies I shall pass on the info and no psycho stalkers involved just an old friend who has lost touch

Good luck to anyone who tries stalking her. I tried it once and ran out of energy after the first 30 miles...........Seriously though, in her day she was on of the best - I belive she was fastest overseas runner at the Two Oceans once. She also blew away most of the men on one of the hilly stages of the Welsh Castles relay.
