Loughborough clubs...? - General running

Hullo All,
Am moving from sunny Oxford to sunny Loughborough at the end of the month, and reluctantly saying goodbye to the lovely Headington Road Runners club. I'm looking for a new club in the Loughborough area, can anyone recommend one?

I'm a committed but slow runner (8.30/mile) and don't want to feel guilty about it! I know Loughborough is full of frighteningly good runners, but do you think there will be a niche for a mere mortal like me?

Mightyfish tomorrow is my last day working in Loughborough
there is a club in Shepshed I know, Ashby (16m away) Desford ...
where are you? or will you be!

Barrow Runners in Barrow upon Trent maybe another ? Then Leicester isn't far and there's a few there, Birstall Running Club would be your side of Leicester.

I'm assuming that Running Fox (running shop) is still open in Loughborough - probably best to ask in there if it is.

Unlike the Ambulance Patient Service driver I had to dig outta the muck.

Yes, he went to Barrow upon Trent instead of Soar. I had to go out to the right place to fetch his patients. Apparently it happens quite often. lol

Sounds like there is hope for me yet then! I will be living on Forest Rd in Loughborough, I imagine Shepshed will be the easiest place to get to (I don't have a car, and my cycling skills are decidedly dodgy!).

Not sure where Barrow is... off to look at a map!

Ta for the info everyone - there's hope for me yet!

Hi Raks. I'll keep you posted, although I'm not moving up til the 1st October, so there's 2 weeks of fun with the Headington club left! I've heard nice things about Shepshed - a friend's sister runs with them and says they are a laugh, so that sounds promising.

Got to get packed and move house first though... and there's the small matter of the Windsor Half on Sunday...
