Can anyone recomend a good marathon training book, i.e. training plans, meals, mental side of the whole thing etc. I've seen a couple on amazon but they all seem to be starting from total beginer level.

thanks.

I think around 4 hour would be doable.

I read Richard Nerurkar's book while training and found it pretty good.

I would recomend Marathon from Start to Finish by Sam Murphy - I get it out from the library before each marathon I do. Straight forward solid advice particularly for a beginner.

Advanced Marathoning by Steve Pztinger (sp?) pretty hard core stuff but a good read.

Running with Lydiard - whatever else you read, you must read Lydiard.
