Post details of your last run and what you think of it
Well after a truely horrible 8.2 miles on Sunday - started off sluggish and every footstep was a chore - I ventured out tonight.
Great run 10 miles on the nose. Very good, last 2 miles were a bit of effort and form had gone but its miles in the bank!
6.6 miles this evening. Have been in the office all day today (a rare occasion) and felt sluggish as a result. There was a massive hill halfway round but I was rewarded with a long gentle downhill home as a result. Shins feeling very sore.
4.5M Steadily done. Okay run.It was warm and dry when out. Nice sunrise.
9.08 miles last night. 3 miles easy to steady, 3 x 200m @ 3k pace with 60 secs jog between sets, 3 miles @ marathon pace, then 3 x 200 @ 3k pace with 60 secs, 1 mile easy. Tough little session.
A really enjoyable 6 miles last night, finished in the dark. This distance has been my LSR up until now but I just decided to try and up the pace a little bit and was pleased to find it reasonably comfortable. It's a pretty hilly route, with 335 ft of gain and I was happy with my endurance on the hills. I only really had to stop and walk (quickly!) at the end of a really long one that gets suddenly steeper near the top, but all of the others I managed to keep running on, which I've never done before.
Over all, I'm happy with doing that at pretty much 57 minutes dead. Still plenty of work to do to break 50 minutes for my 10k in six weeks but it's a much flatter course and I reckon I can at least get close. Just need to make sure I do my fartleks every week, even though I despise them!
Did 6.5M this morning, half mile intervals. Nothing of interest to report. Beat the rain.
Bugger indeed JT. Can you get on the bike or in the pool instead?
That's a bummer JT!
6.42 miles this afternoon after the rain stopped. I really should have got up as usual at 6am and done it before the rain came. As it was, the track was an obstacle course of huge puddles; my vest top got snagged on a branch as I was negotiating one of said puddles, and I got stung umpteen times by low hanging nettles. My legs are tingling away like mad at this very moment! But I enjoyed it!!!!
8 mile tempo run at 6.25 m/m tonight.
7.53 miles (odd distance but a regular training run) Have been running this distance about once every 6 weeks since March. The first time I ran it it took 79.52, my previous personal best was 71.49 (nearly 2 months ago) and today I clocked 64.59. Delighted with that on a hilly route.
Average speed - 8.38 minutes per mile.
Wed 7.30pm - 14km (65 min)
late summer (or maybe early autumnal evening ) - felt non too great on a tough pavement slog - easing back due a sore achilles - need to manage that properly with an upcoming marathon
sorry to hear that JT141 - try and keep up some non impact cardio over the next few weeks - you will come back fairly strong
well done MLR'ers
4.5M Fartlek.Hard session Dry and warm
15km on Monday morning and 12 km yesterday morning here in the French sun. The runs took me purely by accident you understand, alongside a nudist beach.....
If anybody knows the French for "Good gracious Madam, you really shoudn't be running without some support. Can I be of any assistance ? " It may be helpful for my next run. I couldn't find it in my phrasebook.
Redjeep, for some reason I am now picturing you as Sid James!
8 miles with club tonight.
Morning from a very wet, but warm (!) West of Scotland. 4M Steady. Legs tight today.
5 miles last night, half on road, half off. BIG uphill at halfway (450ft in less than a mile) which always kills me, even if I walk it slowly). Good to get off the road. Slows me down but it's much more enjoyable. I think off road is the way I'm going to go almost entirely soon.
1.5 mile run without walking as only just getting back into my running. Felt good getting out there at 06.30hrs when no one is around.
