20 minute tempo @3.58min/km pace. My last tempo run was at 4.03min/km pace which was .03 faster than the previous few. I am well within my tempo training range of 3.51-4.15min/km based on my fastest  5k 10k and HM  times so I may attempt some longer ones.

It never ends and I have to get some track work in before the leaves fall and the bottom end of the track floods.

It always does.

Got slightly out of sync and had to do my intervals this morning. 5x1k at 4.35m/km around Battersea Park. Feeling good for club 10k champs next weekend, and then Windsor. hopefully Surrey Runner won't lap me.

22 miles last night - found it easier than I expected but my toes are suffering a little today particularly my big one on the left.

Good job all.

4 mile easy run in 35:45 on my lunch break. Felt sluggish and legs felt heavy. Still building up the mileage (another 6 on Sunday will make 20 this week) so not too fussed about time, but knees feeling a little sore. More heavy and stiff than painful, so not worrying too much.

Thurs 6 miles (1:06)

Another run with Jog Scotland easy paced run around the southeast of Inverness at dusk, I'm starting to get a little nervous/excited about my first 10k race a week on Sunday,

Just under 11 miles this morning easy.  I'm well pleased with myself as I've not been able to break 10 miles for some time now.  I took some advice from a friend at running club and did two 5.5m laps-- which I thought would annoy me- but it gave me a get-out, which seemed to make a huge difference psychologically. And cos the route's all pretty local, I could have cut it short at any time if I needed.  Also I listened to some radio 4 podcasts on another friend's advice-- which I enjoyed.  I was slow but had some energy left in the bank.  Now my dilemma is this- my 16 mile race lined up in 5 weeks- which I keep on humming and haa-ing about.  Of course part of me wants to do it as it's been my target for over 6 months now.  But will I manage it given my rubbish form in recent months?  Any thoughts most welcome

@Nessie 73. if you can get round 11 miles, you will get round 16 if you do a couple of LSRs of 13 miles between now and race-day. (rule of thumb: if you can do 3/4 of the distance in training, you'll be able to go the full hog on race day, given the adrenalin, extra motivation etc). so, you CAN do this race. obviously, you don't have to, though, but, personally, I would because the sense of achievemtn is going to be massive when you complete it. last weekend, I had second thoughts about the Round Norfolk Relay (i was tired and it was going to be 17k in the middle of the night on no sleep) - but i did it, it went well, and i feel great!

A steady state 8.11miles this evening, just picked up a new garmin 910xt so loads of data to study now, great for making me get out of the door.

18 mins jog down the road. Sounds like nothing, but after 6 weeks of injury it felt amazing. Hopefully the start of a comeback.

Nice one, Jane

The Streak now stands at 600 days and I *celebrated* with my 12th 10k session in a row, pausing only to share the time of day with four Irish Wolfhounds near Crosby Beach

10 miles on the treadmill tonight.

Sat 7.30am - 10km (garmin free)

bright sunny morning - a touch of frost on the ground when I started - which reminds me that I need to get some gloves for the winter

last long run tomorrow - marathon in 3 weeks - then a break from running for a couple of weeks

keep it going everyone

Glad to hear your training is going well, Cidlad

Having rested my achilles for a couple of weeks, I decided to venture out today (I'm dog sitting again this weekend) to do a walk/run. I did more walking than running, it has to be said, but there was no discomfort in the tendon, which was heartening. Obviously I mustn't overdo it, but I'm hoping that the rest and eccentric exercises are paying off. Finger crossed!

My longest run ever today !

18miles this afternoon along the local canal in 2hrs 35mins, which was a bit faster than I'd planned, but I was slowing down exponentially at the end. I reckon another mile would have taken me half an hour !

Still contemplating a marathon in 6 weeks. Today made me feel hopeful I could do it.

Sat 4 miles (38 mins)

4 miles this evening, looking good for a sub 60 minute 10k on sunday week.  I almost got run over by a young lad on a bike, he came out of a driveway not looking where he was going, probably couldn't see around his hoody, fortunately no harm done !

A short steady state run this evening of 4.7 miles - might do a 10k race tomorrow morning I'll see how I feel....
23/09/2012 at 11:28

thanks Squawk

Sun 7.00am - 36km (2.56)

last long run completed - wasn't too bad and felt that I still had enough left in the tank for comfort

off to the match now - hope there is a dignified and respectful atmosphere prior to kick off - but followed by a meaty game of football

happy running everyone

20.36 miles at 7.14m/m pace this morning.  Very wet.

Well despite having a dinner party last night I ran the 10K race this morning and got a new PB of 36:16.
