Post details of your last run and what you think of it
6 miles steady. Beautiful autumn morn, cold, crisp and dry. Jazzy skies as the sun rose and a blanket of leaves to run on after the storm yesterday stripped the trees of their remaining decoration. Felt good to be alive this morning.
first run after my virgin 1/2 marathon on sunday. (aimed for around 1:50-55 came in at 1:45. whoop to me.)
sore feet for the first couple of days. not helped by the realisation that my socks are not "running" socks but general sports socks with big seams down the side of the toes that lead to big blisters when runnning say, 13.1 miles.
Calfs aching after 3km. did a steady 6km and called it a night. windy as hell and a yummy thai green curry waiting at home sapped the will power.
7 lovely miles this morning in and around Darley Park (Derby) Nice crisp sunny morning just made for running. Hope Saturday morning is just as nice?
Still nursing my Achilles, but ventured out this morning for a chilly 2.65 miles.
Another 5 miles this morning -1 degrees lovely and fresh and whats more.....no ill feelings from my knee! Happy days.
Just a quick 4.39 miles on the treadmill today.
Sat 1.30pm - pilates class followed by 7.5 miles - hilly and varied pace - pushed on the hills and ran steady on the flatter bits - tired legs - felt like a useful run
Squawk - easy does it
good running everyone
Sun 7.30am - 10 miles approx (garmin free)
strong winds and plenty of stinging rain - the last 3 miles directly into the wind - the kind of Sunday morning the Commodores sang about
comfortable pace throughout - rounded off with a sauna and a jaccuzi to reinvigorate
dig in everyone
Sunday XC at Southgate, North London. Sodden course, with absolute mudbath at the bottom of the hill towards the end of each lap. Kept up decent pace until reached virtual standstill in the mud on final lap, arms aching like hell for some reason. but then found some strength and a sprint to the end to gain a few places. 8.5k at 4.52m/km (although approx 25m/km in the mudbath!)
oh yeah, and a shedload of fun!
10k on the treadmill tonight.
6.7 miles on the treadmill tonight - I'm just glad to be running again after a 3 week lay off.
Steady 11 miles @ 7:16 pace.
6 mile recovery after 12.5 mile treadmill run yesterday. Chickened out of running outside as the weather was foul, 40 odd minutes into a long treadmill run I was regretting that decision massively. Nothing replaces running outside.
Had a week offline and out of the office so just did nice recreational runs at varying pace but focussing on enjoying it really. 5 Runs covering 48 miles and very wet trainers from gross weather but nice just to run where I fancy running and not worry about time/effort.
Good work all, back to usual running this week
I've been very slack recently. Only one or two short runs a week for the last month. Back into action today with a 3.5 mile lunchtime run. Very wet, very floody but it felt good to get back to it,
Mon 2.00pm - 8km (37 min)
splashed my way round - easy run - the option of the treadmill was considered but getting out was the correct choice
happy running everyone
DunkyD - good approach
Morning 3.5M with our black labrador. Cold, dry, no wind. He's now snoring at my feet.
6.5 mile tempo, 4.5m at HM pace. Blew the cobwebs off.
I dressed heavy thinking that I was doing a steady run and only remembered a few hundred yards into the run that it was supposed to be a tempo today. Got a bit too bloody warm!
Yes, Cidlad - 'easy does it' indeed!
My ankle was fine after the run, but since then I've done a workout which was quite intense, and now I seem to be back to square one with my achilles. I think my running days are doomed!
