Yesterday was a 6 mile x country race for me. I can only describe it as horrendous, although I'll definitely be back out in January to the next one.

10 miles last night in a clear but very cold peak district. I had my first race last week and did a very steady 4 miles on tuesday as part of my recovery week so I thought I was ready for a decent run yesterday. Clearly I was wrong as my legs will confirm today. Still, it was good to be out and about with some lovely views and a few cows for company

As it was raining when I went to bed at 10.00 last night and was still raining when I got up at 6.00am, I assumed that it will be the first ice-free run in a few days.  Wrong!  Some absolutely treacherous spots that hadn't melted but totally took you by surprise.  Very close to going over twice this morning, butterflies in the stomach moments both of them.

6 miles steady....well steady-sih.

Ventured back out for a run yesterday morning, and ran a very sedate 3 miles. Heel seems ok, but I've been here before and been proved wrong!

Anyway, did some Pilates this morning to vary things.

Shouldn't really be posting on here as I don't have a run to report. Haven't been out for eight days now, since the Bath Hilly Half last Sunday. I decided I'd have a few days off after it to recover but then have been feeling rough ever since. Not helped by my baby sons stinking cold which means he isn't sleeping and so neither are we!

Anyway, I really do want to try and get out asap probably just for a four miler to ease back in. I'm posting this on here in the hope it may motivate me to get on and do it!

Good running everyone else. Makes me feel like a rigtht lazy arse!

6 miles last night. Cold innit!

Last night's 7.2 miles left me with a tweaked calf   However, after ice and compression bandage had been deployed, I managed a distinctly tender 1.1 miles around the park before work at 7am.  I'll need to resort to ten-minute Streaksavers for a while....

Hi guys, first post in this thread!

I did a cheeky 11.25k this evening - nothing special, but at one point I saw a group of about 15 kids out for a run (there is a big park with running track and sports centre very near my house so I assume it was some kind of club run), the vast majority of which had big smiles on their faces. That put a big smile on mine too.

Mornng 4M steadily and in parts slippery on frozen snow. Okay run mostly. Ran mostly off road as can see fields due to snow
