Thurs 3.6 miles 36 mins

Hills sprints last night, very slippy under foot on the paths as it was raining but still very cold, good news the tempatures are up today so hopefully no ice tonight.

Sat 8.00am - 14km mixed pace run

15 miles this morning, beautiful out!

16.5 miles LSR.  Very icy still but the ice was solid as a rock and almost sticky on the surface.  Very odd but not actually too difficult to run on.  I'm still looking forward to the breakdown of all this cold weather and some nice runs without ice.

South of England Masters XC Champs at Claybury. More than I could handle standards-wise - there are some seriously fast over 40s out there. Extremely boggy 10k course, churned up all the previous races. lots of fallers. gps failed, but reckon I got round in about 49mins and came 2nd or 3rd last.

a run that took a lot of physical and mental stamina, and one of those outings that can only make me stronger...oh yeah, and it was fun!

Nah, just dedicated

Well, finally, the ice vanished today and I was able to run a totally normal stride pattern for the first time in a fortnight.

It was only a 50 minute, 6 mile recovery run but what a run of two halves.  The first half the frost and ice had been replaced by lashing cold rain and really powerful gusts of wind that knocked you sideways and splattered your face with wet if you were running into it.  It had me wondering about that most ancient of human imponderables "do we really know how good we've got it".  I was longing for the ice instead.  By the turnaround, the front had passed and the last 3 miles were run in benign, windless and rain-free conditions - perfect winter running weather.

Yin/yan to say the least.

turns out that at the boggy SEAA Masters 10k xc yesterday, I actually ran 47.39. considering most people were 2 or 3 minds down on their road PBs, this is in fact one of my best runs ever. still came second to the last though!! hoping to get in a recovery run later...

9.55 miles on the treadmill.  Average of 6.59 pace on 1 percent.  Still a bit of a twinge in the ankle.

Sun 11 miles 2hrs

An out and back along the canal toepath to Dochgarroch, a breezy but mild late morning run, what a way to start your week

09/12/2012 at 16:25

13 miles around Aberystwyth, taking in some killer hills.

10k nice and easy on a treadmil!

Nice one Baldbloke.  A bunch from my club were down at Claybury as well. Not me, I am LOADS too slow.  I hear it's  a tough one.

Me- around 4 miles today. Loved it, felt strong, felt like I could have run for hours but was short on time.  Isn't it strange how differently you can feel... Friday's run was sooo hard, and around the same pace but a constant fight. Today was great, easy etc.
