Cheers, people   Just putting in the 1.1 mile Streaksavers atm.  It's tight muscles below the calf that's the issue but it's easier: no longer descending stairs with my body at 90 degrees to the wall

20 miles, steady 9m/m. Enjoyable but no-one really says hello in Newcastle. Sad.
Have a good weekend all

Well done Sianz. I know, I've been knocking down a few of my times recently and it feels pretty good doesn't it.

Off road today. Very muddy. Ran in my vivobarefoot trail shoes for the first time (had them ages but knackered my shin bone before I got a real chance to use them). Had to strap them on tight, The lugs are good at keeping you pushing forward. And they shed big clogs of mud now and then in a strangely pleasing way. Not so much fun on the pavements. Anyway, clear, bright and not too cold. 11.62 miles in 1hr32. For the muddy conditions I'm happy I just nicked under the 8min/mile average.

I've not been able to run in over 16weeks due to an ankle injury when i fell of a kerb just before my first marathon.

I've tried on the treadmill every week for the last couple of months but could never get above walking pace until this week. I got on hoping to be able to get up to running pace and maybe do a km but managed 5km only stopping because I felt I shouldn't be pushing it any further.

My calf didn't enjoy 2.2 miles around Waterloo this evening: hot bath, ice & pills administered

Take it easy Swittle but well done for keeping on keeping on

12 mile medium/slow one this morning.  Incessant rain, damned cold and not all that enjoyable.  Onwards and upwards though.

6 miles into a 12 mile run i came home, i just could not get warm, it was raining and icy wind and just misserable, horrible run.

Thanks! It certainly does.

Had a pretty rough 12 miler today, the weather (awful rain and very cold) was just too much for me I think!

Redjeep - good to have you back

Sun 11.00am - 'mad dog' 10km in Southport - miserable day for it, so I wasn't hopeful time-wise.....surprised myself with a pb and achieved a goal of mine to go sub 40min (39.23)

makes me wonder what could be achieved on a still warm day

Marc.S - your next run will erase the one before

Wokingham half today. New PB of 1.24.01.
10/02/2013 at 18:23

congrats to both cidlad and SR on the PBs - in fact there seem to be an amazing number of PBs coming in from Wokingham despite the foul weather...makes you wonder if it doesn't work as an incentive to get the race finished ASAP!

personally, i'm glad i decided to skip the race - i still feel very flu-ey today and it sounds as though hospitalization with pneumonia would have been virtually guaranteed.

commiserations to Redjeep and Swittle on more serious woes. take it easy, lads!

Nice one Cidlad and Surrey, some excellent times.

Baldie- get better soon

Swittle and Red- take it easy

Horrible weather here too- constant freezing rain and sleet. So I chickened out of going out as I already have a cold.  Copped out with 30 minutes intervals on hubby's treadie, which is better than a kick up the backside I guess :-/

4M Steady for me.

Cidlad + Surrey.  Some fantastic running and excellent PBs.

11 miles steady for me this morn.  Cold and windy, brrrrr.
