Strangely Brown - apart from that, did you enjoy the run?

yesterday's parkrun - 19.40 (pb 19.31) - given the conditions not displeased - sub 19 is the aim for now - will try do one parkrun a month as they are quite good fun

Sun 2.00pm - 18.8 km pavement pounding - easy pace but energy sapping - the wind had a bite which gnawed deep inside - tough but enjoyable

battle through everyone

Baldie- nice one, that is an excellent time.  It looked like loads of fun and I'm quite jealous that I didn't do it, but with the cut-off that is impossible for the forseeable future..  I didn't marshall in the end as I'm drowning under a mountain of work this weekend and have been / am trying to plough through it. Couldn't spare the time.  Have you seen the great pics? http://www.flickr.com/photos/orionflickr/sets/72157633066189135/

'Fraid the timekeepers are a law unto themselves... that is gutting that you made it just under 2.20 and they made it just over...

I will be doing the 5 mile series over the summer, so maybe catch you then

Marc- also in awe of barefoot in snow!

Me- short of time, as above, so all I could fit in today was 30 mins of really decent quality intervals.  I really pushed myself for the sprints though so I feel like I've actually done something..

Still cold, still windy but nothing like as bitter as yesterday.  Little 4m recovery run squeezed in, the dog saw about a mile of it.

Hey Strangers,

Had a week off work and haven't been online much. 50 miles last week which ended with a 22 effort for my longest trainng run of the plan. Swore I'd never train for a marathon again at mile 18 - horrible cold day - stong wind in my face - legs died at the end but I think it was my mind that broke really, due to the conditions etc. I started reaccessing what pace to hit the mara and everything. Feeling more positive today though...

Looking forward to the tapering of training!

Some good stories over the last week - hello to MLR newbs.

SR, that is an impressive 20miles - sub 3 looks pretty likely eh?!?!

Good work all,

D

Mon 1.00pm - easy 8km with Fudge

respect to all those in marathon training - keep it going - both physically and mentally

run strong everyone

7.10miles in 56mins tonight. No snow but very cold. Was a bit wheezy to start so not very comfortable - combination of ibrufen which isn't great for asthma and the bitingly cold air. Heal a bit achey again.

4M Tempo Run in lightly falling snow. Not a bad run.

Finally a change in the weather - at last!!!!  Today was grey and cold instead of sunny and cold :-/

The lightest of wispy snow showers lasted throughout the run, tickling my cheeks as I went.  Today was a 11 mile GA run with 6 x 100 strides.  Garmin ran out of charge a mile from home, harumph.

Morning all,

Glad we've avoided the snow here - still bloody freezing though.

6 x 1k @ 7min/mile with 1 min recovery jogs - bit tired after Sundays long run but felt pretty comfortable with the pacing so gain a bit of confidence back at least.

@cidlad - forgot to say, great to see Fudge back out on the trails!

Chin chin,

D

cheers DunkyD - Fudge is loving being out

Tue - 9.00pm - icy feel to the evening but no wind - woodland 8km - middle 3km at full pace - good little session to shake off a hard day at work

good running everyone

Been fortunate to have only a dusting of snow on Merseyside but the east wind has tried to cut me in two as I negotiate Crosby Beach.  A glute twinge but no worse this eve.  Stick to it!

10 mile recovery run on the treadmill this evening.

27/03/2013 at 06:29

5M Steadily done.

Morning from a snow falling West of Scotland

27/03/2013 at 08:07

11 miles into a vicious wind, it really cuts deep that icy wind,

27/03/2013 at 08:43

Doesn't it just Marc?

8miles inc 5x600m @ 5k pace.  Falling light snow again, nasty bugger of a wind, temps hovering around zero.  The weather Gods are poking fun at us now.

Nice sunshine in Chelt this morning - still freezing though!

8 miles easy this morning - legs felt strong again and confidence restored! Roll on Brighton

distinct signs of a thaw in London...twice round a loop of Regent's Park and Primrose Hill for 11.5k at 5.30m/km...feeling pretty tired after Reading HM and the Orion 15 on consecutive weekends

Nessie - will definitely be heading back to Epping Forest soon. It's a beautiful place to run and it only took me 10 minutes longer to get there than Richmond Park! One of the Orion Harriers also told me about a midsummer fell race they organise, which sounds a lot of fun...

Five miles on the treadmill tonight.
