7 miles GA.  Still slight knee stiffness but almost totally gone now.  Felt good in cooler conditions.

WB Cidlad and WB to action JT. Jealous of Redjeep, sounds lovely! Top pic Swittle!

Loving the cooler temp too... Intervals this morning - 12 x 400m at 6:15. Hard but felt strong.

Noticed that I went over 1000 miles for year the other week too, averaging 35 / week. Not bad seeing as I've had a few niggles. Lets see if I can keep it up for the rest of the year....

Ye, I find even a couple of degrees' fall helps my breathing & endurance.

Thanks, DunkyD - the tower could be such a fantastic facility but...

4pm - because I'm on leave - and 5.2 miles amongst crowds of people enjoying the warm, sunny conditions around the Marina & on the beach.  A couple of pilot ships were standing off the radar tower, waiting to guide ships through the treacherous approaches - and the tower was emitting a regular beeping sound as I ran up to it - or maybe it was from the ships...

Morning all,

Great work John!

Birky - off road sounds good. It's been too long for me!

7.5 miles @ 7:06min/m this morning. Tough at the end but starting to see a return to form. Hopefully looking at a PB for my next half...

Twice round Ferry Meadows in Peterborough this morning, very very misty! Nice though

Wed 9.00am - 8km parkland run with Fudge in tow

warm and muggy - wildflowers up to head height  as I cut through the narrow grassy path around the edge of the park

haven't done a long run for a few weeks - will have to pencil one in for the weekend

good running everyone

Everybody is zipping along at the moment.
Have given up on the Newtons purchase. Apparently they're not very durable, and I've got far too many shoes.
Foot is fine. Whatever it was has healed quickly. 8.15miles in 1hr (and a bit), getting quicker all the way along. Did have a stop at a closed railway crossing.

An afternoon trip to the seaside via the park and coastguard station proved decidedly on the warm side but I'd hydrated well and really enjoyed beating the heat.  5.2 miles or 45 minutes.

Great running MLRers.  Conditions are fantastic aren't they

Me-5.5 miles through the forest club run.  Absolutely cracking run with great company.  Off to France on Friday middle of the night.  May try to sneak in a final run on Friday morning as mum's having the kids for a few hours.  And shall pack my shoes altho with my sense of direction it may just be a couple of laps around the neighbouring field

So if I don't manage a final run on Friday, see y'all in a week and a bit, when I shall be turning 40. Yikes

Happy holibobs, Nessie - and a wonderful birthday, when it arrives!

08/08/2013 at 11:52

Thought you were 73 Nessie

Well done Birky's son and nephew!! Great achievement, you must be on cloud9. Boom boom.

5 miles Easy this morning. Bit of sunshine again but not hot - nice.

7.5km (largely uphill) last night for me (averaged 5:57 per km). Weather was fine. I felt a bit tired though generally. I put it down to a slow recovery after my half marathon distance the other day which I know I went too fast for. Still had a strong finish and my same average pace but just felt a bit harder than usual overall. Night off tonight but doing the same run again tomorrow, then a 10 miler on Sunday I think as I'm dropping back my long run distance a bit and then building back up again.

08/08/2013 at 15:35

First club race last night - 7.5km off-road in 46 mins. Was pretty happy with the time, though it felt tough all the way round & the sprint finish was ok - but 115th out of 150 women - eek?!.

Training, training, training required.

Hi all - first ever post. .

08/08/2013 at 15:54

welcome, Arabek...sounds like a good start to your racing career if you ask me...those times will come down quickly...

for me, lunchtime LT sesssion. 3x2miles at4.40m//km off 90 sec recoveries. not fun, by any stretch of the imagination....

08/08/2013 at 16:15

6.44 miles, was supposed to be 5 miles, but I missed a turning. Average pace pitiful, mainly owing to standing staring thinking 'How do I get to there?' There being half a mile past where I should have come out on the downward path.

Memo to self:

Walk the whole route first, not just to where you can see the whole trail and make a note of the coordinates, with a phone and a wristwatch that give a GPS readout it's a bit stupid to go 'Duh, where am I?

09/08/2013 at 09:11
